En Suite grow room?

Ok so I'm soon to start my first grow when I get into my new flat and I'm going to be growing two plants. Originally I was going to grow in the closet in my bedroom as I wouldn't be using it but I was told their might be a smell issue but then searched about and the forums said it should be find with just two plants, just throw in some air fresheners and some cat litter haha. So new plan! One of the rooms comes with a small en suite bathroom (there are three of us sharing the flat and we'll be sharing gardening duty too) so I thought I would set up the lights in the shower as it is closet size and its a bathroom so would at least be slightly ventilated . . . but would just openly in a small bathroom be OK? If I disconnected the lights and just used the lamps hung in the shower with the shower also disconnected but I can't tell if growing openly would be good or bad for the plant or would it be better to find a way to modify the cupboard? It's not a huge flat so there isn't really anywhere else to put it as it has no storage space or attic so it's either a stinky cupboard (with little to no modification possible) or the en suite so are there any obvious problems I'd run into here?

When it comes time to make your plant(s) flower, it will need absolute darkness for 12 or more hours every day. Can you do that in this bathroom?

And one plant can be plenty stinky. If "flat" means "apartment" (Yank here :D)with other folks living all around you, you need SERIOUS odor control, or a different place to grow. There's some threads around here that describe the drawbacks of apt grows, might wanna check 'em out. :thumbsup:

And--what's the saying?--three can keep a secret if two are dead? (Not suggesting anything drastic here! :D) Tell NO ONE about your grow. There's some threads about security, too. Make sure your roomies keep it on the "DL." (I an sooo square, this is my hippest phase!) Good luck! Hermie

growing in the open is fine, you dont need a confined space. Make sure you get a fan, make the room light tight, get a hps light, don't go in there when the light is off in flower.

After my first grow in my apartment, I vowed never to grow again.... without odor contol:thumbsup:

I had the air fresheners, but by the end of the grow, my friend smelled my plant when we entered the actual building, let alone my apartment. That was just ONE plant...

Also, a maintenance man walked into my apartment one day. While I was growing, I didn't answer the door for anybody, but this guy had a key and just walked in! Thankfully he didn't notice anything because the air fresheners masked the smell a little, but he was only in my apartment for less than a minute.

Think about all possibilities... how about friends coming over? Are they going know about this? Once you got this planned out, go for it!
