Hello I would like to introduce myself to the forum and ask for some help if possible.
My name is Mark and I??m 23 years old and have had Rheumatoid Arthritis since the age of 3. I have it in both of my knees and one of my elbows. It is so bad in my elbow that it has left me with only 5 degrees of motion? my elbow is virtually locked in place. From my diagnosis at a young age up until the age of 18 I was a patient of sick kids hospital. There I received many different medications, cortisone injections, MRI scans, and physiotherapy. All of which never really helped me live with my arthritis. It was when I was 18 and I had my first marijuana cigarette did I find out what a great tool marijuana is in helping me cope with my arthritic pain. Since then I have not seen a doctor for my arthritis?I have been ??self medicating?. But therein lies my problem, since I have not seen a doctor in 5 or so years. I am now in the search for a open minded doctor that can help me get my medicine legally. If anybody can recommend a compassionate doctor it would be of great help to me.

I am happy to hear that you are were able to find relief using cannabis. I may be able to help you out. I have afew connections with several Doctors in Canada that are open minded and willing to prescribe bud as medicine. How long have you been in Ontario and do you have an Ontario health card?
I am about to order afew new strains from Amsterdam? What strains do you find work best for you? I will soon have Chemdog, OG Kush, Jack Herer and LA Confidential..
What's the best way to get in touch with you?

I am trying to aplply too, or thinking of it...
I was looking for a list to see if my family doc is listed there, that would ease the asking... Although I will be there for other (embarrassing) medical reasons, so I might as well just jump out and say it all at once...
Is that you mark mark? Like,.. who knows suzy? lol... its Shawn :P I think i may get an ATP :D hopefully... If it is you, PM me... or hell... call me hahaha
Im thinking that seeing as I have the same situation as the original poster, where I stopped going to the doctor for depression/add/anxiety related things for like 3 (possibly more) years...
I'm also thinking that having that combination of 3 things that are medically treated with marijuana, I am more likely to get an ATP... because of how many different pills would be subscribed...
Am I right?

Well it looks like there is no PM or MSG system... thats odd... Most forums do have... In that case, if you (uvbdelta or ChronVanadium) could please contact me via this contact form here (http://stonerhost.com/index.php/contact) and select "other" as the contact type... Make sure you use this forum/thread as a reference so I know who you are. Just copy/paste the thread URL into the message.
If the admin would enable editing for unlimited time, this second post wouldnt have happened...
By the way, according to the statistics listed on the Health Canada website (http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/marihuana/stat/index-eng.php), Most medical users reside in Ontario!

Hello my name is Michael
I'm from Belleville, ON and I have been suffering from Insomnia. I am 19 years old and I wake up every morning exhausted never feeling like Ive even slept that night.
My sleep schedule rarely stays on track. I don't like taking pills and I find that sleeping pills are too addicting for me and loose there effect quickly. I believe that using medical Marijuana could help me get some needed rest.
Any help in finding a compassionate doctor near me would be great

I have had serious back pain from heavy lifting for years in restaurants, my tail bone gets inflammated and the pain is unbearable. I tried to find a doctor to prescribe me something stronger than what he recommended, but it's not possible. With all the red tape now, doctors more than ever do not want to cross any boundaries with medications. I know that only 5% of people of 1000's who apply for a medical marijuana license get approved, and doctors still don't want to put their reputation or license on the line with all the grey areas. I am a member of the Compassionate Friends Club, I could recommend you if you want to check it out. It's an online club that really helps. The website is compassionatefriendsclub.com, let me know if this helps!

Hi Michael, don't you think that using mj may make you more tired? Plus you'll get hungry and then you'll wake up again once you lose your buzz. Just a thought, are you taking presc sleeping pills?

Hey guys,
A long time ago I posted a similar thread looking for a doctor. Luckily for me (out of the blue), a kind person on another online forum who uses MMJ referred me to a website that connects Canadian patients with doctors and growers.
If you're in Ontario and you're able to provide documentation of your medical condition, PM me and I'll try to help you find a compassionate doctor. No BS, it's a legit site that complies with the Health Canada rules. :) They're seriously good people. If I think you're for real, I'll send you the link.
They can't guarantee that you will be approved, but they'll get the ball rolling and guide you through every step of the process.
Good luck and hope everyone on the forums has a wonderful New Year! :D

I am looking for a doctor in the Toronto or Durham region that is compassionate.
I have tried prescription sleep aids with the opposite effect happening and the only thing that seems to help me sleep at night is Marijuana.

I am in my 40s, with a rare syndrome that causes severe muscle cramps.
Every night my legs, arms, feet cramp so bad that the pain is terrible.
I have tried meds, hot tubs, etc.. no real success, as I age it gets worse and worse.
I was considering trying MM, and would like to know of any doctors on southern Ont that would be able to discuss this with me. My doctor is not to up on this, and he is not against it, but rather taking a "hands off" approach.
Any suggestions? Comments..etc.

Hello there triptych, I just stumbled on to your offer after searching the internet for leads to Doctors that are compassionate. I have been through 4 Doctors now, and all of them seem to realize that Cannabis would help me, but always give the excuse along the lines of "there are no double blind studies" about the side-effects short or long term, which is frankly, BS, and extremely frustrating. I have already sent you an email, not sure if you have got it or not.
I have all the documentation that would be needed, so no issues there, I just want to find a Compassionate Doctor in Durham Region. I don't have a vehicle and it is taxing on my family to keep having to take time off work to drive me out to Toronto. Any help would be appreciated!

Here is the good news…
If you have a seen a specialist, had MRI’s etc. proving your condition, and have tried the most common pharma RX’s and found them unsuitable due to addictive properties, side effects etc. there are options out there….
Here is the bad news for those with limited incomes….
There is a doctor/service out in BC that will review your case and fill out your paperwork for you, unfortunately it will cost you about $500 to get your records transferred, and to pay for the skype conference with the doctor. So yeah it will cost you $$$, but it sure beats getting busted for taking your medicine. Not to mention the courier costs for paperwork etc. etc.
So if you have a doctor who knows it helps but is not willing to sign off, there are options out there.
In my case my doctors just didn’t want to be on the hook in the end, but had no problem recommending the other doctor sign off on my MMA card.
This doctor is legit and trying to help, they pre-screen the patients based on the initial questionnaire, and if the doc feels you are a candidate then they get your records transferred…. Do NOT LIE on the form, only put down proven facts that can be backed up with documentation, etc. otherwise you are just wasting your time and more importantly this doctor’s who is quite passionate about helping people..
In my case I had seen neurologists, pain management specialists, etc. and tried a lot of diff RX’s and had the documentation to back up my questionnaire answers.
If you filled out the questionnaire telling them you have a bad back and haven’t seen any specialist etc. and want your MMA card….I doubt they would even consider your case.
PM me if anyone wants any details.

Im bipolar and live in toronto, been smoking marijuana ever since i was a early teen growing up. 3 years years back i was hospitalized for 2 - 3 months thanks to a manic episode which was brought on due to alot of stress and unforseen circumstances. I've tried many different pills and many different methods to combat this disorder for 2 -3 years nows - have in mood stabalizers(3), to anti-psychotics(2), to sleep meds, to anxiety meds. Doctor sais it might work and it might not,for a while now i've been going on and off bud for switching meds ( he's really against marijuana, but I think he's for suicide ), just last year i went through one of the werst depressions of my bipolar career and he didnt do nothing he just kept uping my dosages (he didn't even want to prescribe me anti-depressants cause of the effects on mania), the thing doctors don't realize is sometimes people don't stick around to wait for their meds to kick in 2 3 4 years later when the dosage is right at the right time when your probably feeling great anyways cause u have the life sucked out of you. Meds that have side effects you wouldn't believe each with their own type of cruelty socialy and mentaly. So for 1 1/2 year now i've been canabis free and off my meds - I feel ok, i guess (meds made it hard to just live life normaly - all meds are good for I think as someone honest is to make sure I don't endanger anyone else in the world, it does nothing for self harm and other sorts if its depression to suicide to stuck to your bed wishing it will end) The pdocs are just happy they turned anoher person into a unipolar zombie. I'm clean, but i've been drinking alot of lates and thinking about going back to old mari j for the pick up instead brain hemridging jacky d, wondreing if anyone knows a good doctor and i was wondering if that vancouver stuff is for real because they asked me for 350$ already and im alittle worried about it.
You know someone is manic posting at 4 am

Thank you to all contributors to this thread
I too am searching for a helpful doctor
I had no clue what I was doing until some very cool tips from some very cool people opened my eyes
I cannot believe how well my search for the elusive license is going
I have just got back home from seeing the Chief and Chairman of a big hospital and I was not rejected
He offered to fill out my forms right there and then for 5 grams per day
I was worried that I would lose his respect from even mentioning my wish to get a license
We have had a very long relationship due to my several conditions (Cat 1 and Cat 2)
We did not agree on the amount as I cannot smoke bud and must eat cake or drink tea
I have a higher dosage in mind and he did give me a referral to a couple Drs who I hope understand my position
This process has become very exciting and very real
I look forward to watching my very own and very legal plants grow and become the best medicine to help get my many conditions under control
This is exciting
Thank you all for your very helpful contributions
On behalf of my wife, several children (LOL) and myself
All the best

PS the doctor mentioned above does not take new clients and the one he is referring me to has already been mentioned by named in some posts

Please read if you are looking for a Canadian Doctor to sign your MMA forms for Health Canada for you,,,2 years ago this month I was diagnosed with Esophegeal Cancer which falls under category 1 for eligibility,,,,I d 4 Doctors who worked miracles on me, I went through the Radiation, Chemo Treatments and Surgery,,,Although I was in pain and losing weight like crazy (went from 225 lbs to 112 within 1 year), there is NO WAY my Doctors would sign my MMA forms,,,They would say they didn't believe in the drug or had no information readily available for them to see if it did help patients,,therefore no one would sign or have anything to do with it.
After browsing the web for a few months I found this website Marijuana Canada - Medical Marijuana Canada, Cards, License - Medical Marijuana Cure (http://www.medicalmarijuanacure.com/) and decided to give it a shot,,,I emailed them and received a quick answer from them asking that I get my medical records and mail it to them, I went to the Hospital and got what they wanted,(cost 50 bucks),,I put everything in an envelop0e and mailed it to them,,within 3 weeks I received a cal;l from them saying that they had received the package and were going to get in contact with me again in the near future,,I waited another 3 weeks then I received another email from them telling me thatI would receive a SKYPE call from a Doctor Dunlop they were working with,,,,I got the Skype call and everything lasted less than 10 minutes,,he asked me about my pain management, my eating, digestive, sleep and a whole bunch of health issues,,,he then asked me where I was purchasing my piot from and how muchj I was paying for it,,and also the quality of the weed I was getting,,,and how much I was smokink, eating and vaporizing,,,after about 10 minutes he signed my forms right inn front of me and saisd everything was signed and up to par and they would send the forms to Health Canada and shoukld receive their approval within 2 moths from the time they receive it,,,Less that 2 months after I got a letter in the mail from Health Canada with my Medical Marijuana Access license inside the envevlope,,that was a good way of getting things done if no one else were going to sign off on the forms,,
I am now licensed and can obtain up to 5 ounces a month, and also I have to say that they found me a grower ,,,I told them I didn't trust the shit I was getting off the streets and was not setup to grow for myself, they then put me in touch with a grower who is on their list or network of other growers and he's been supplying me with KICK ASS WEED,,,
At the time I applied for my license through Medical Marijuana Cure I never got charged or had to pay a fee for anything, but now I see a year later they have a one time charge of $657.00 which I find pretty high but it's all worth it if you can't find anyone to help you with whatever reasons you have to take Marijuana,,,this is ju7st my 2 cents but if it wasn't for them I'd probably still be searching for someone as compassionate as they are,,,it's your health guys,,if you think it's not worth the money to get your license then so be it,,but it's a small fee to pay to get the help needed legally,,,thanks Yvon

Hi all, new to this post, I have not read through it all yet, so my answer may be here, but just in case, here's my question.
I've always had access to pot. It just never did alot for me, I didn't really get into it. I never liked the smoking part.
I was diagnosed with MS about a year ago, but looking back, probably had it for longer. I am at a point now where there is fairly constant pain, and the nerves and spasms are just not good either. I can back this up with the diagnosis from my neurologist. I was prescribed Baclofen for pain and spams, it doesn't do a great job, and just makes me feel like crap. I had people in my MS group suggest pot, and a vapourizer. I tried it, and I haven't felt that pain free for a long time. Regardless whether I can get a prescription or not, this is the solution for me. But I would like to do this legally, obviously to get rid of the legal concerns. My doctor nor neurologist will support this. Can anybody point me in the direction of a doctor that can support me in this.

I hate to be necro-posting but I'm not the only one. I would like to thank all those who have contributed to this thread which has pointed me in the right direction.
I was told yesterday I had RRMS (Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis). Although I wasn't officially diagnosed yet, I was referred to a neurologist but hell knows when that will be. My problem is that I am set to start college in September and the way my vision is right now I can barely tell where I m going and driving back and forth all the time could be a real pain. Does anyone know if "compassionate" doctors can speed up the process? In the meantime, I have requested assistance from a friend to get some for me. Last time I had an episode, the weed got my vision back t normal after about two weeks. I'm in real bad shape and I'm sure everyone who views this thread is possibly in worse shape than I am. My current condition right now includes:
-Severe loss of vision. I can still type andwrite but it's hard the further I get.
-The right side of my face is paralysed. Eating ad is very hard.
-Loss of appetite
-Bad virtigo
-Random numbness in my feet and hands
So far the ER doctor game me 5 tablets of some steroid which don't help at all, if anything it made my vision worse. I can deal with the rest of the symptoms but without my vision, I'm afraid I'll have to forget school in fall. I been working my butt off to get in, this is really an unforseen major setback. Anyone have any short term ideas to help restore my vision? I also refuse to take any prescribed medication, from what I gathered, the side effects are worse and price is rather expensive especially iwthout a drug plan. I used to smoke weed rather frequently and last time it worked marvelously. Anyone have any advice?
Thanks in advance

I noticed this website is no longer offering assistance for patients to help them find a designated grower :(

Hello
I have social anxiety and am looking for a medical marijuana friendly doctor, I have a note written by my therapist confirming his support but have been unable to find a doctor to support me. I am in my 30's and have had social anxiety since grade 1 and have to sometimes fight just leave the house some days. I found marijuana a couple years ago an have found it to be one the best ways of halting my panic attacks before they become overwhelming but the thought of the criminal consequences causes me anxiety of its own.

Hi my name is chris kim, 19 years old.
so ive had high eye pressure since I was 15, beginning of high school
and because of this glaucoma like symptoms I visited many eye doctors for numerous times.
a few months back I just happened to find out that high eye pressure can be lowered
from using medical cannabis. so immediately I printed off an application page (CALM)
and went to see my doctor about it. first time I visited I felt so silly I could not even
approach my doctor. so the second time I went I got up my courage just to hear him say no.
like I said my condition is not glaucoma but glaucoma is caused by unregulated high eye pressure
because of high eye pressure, it damaged my cornea and eye sight and I cant let that to happen
and neigher can I afford it. so my question is, is there any doctor any at all ?, who can approve my
condition and take better care of my condition.

I am looking for a legal site in Ontario to get a marijuana licence quickly. I have a pain doctor who supports my use but cannot sign because of hospital restrictions.
