I know that when you germinate seedlings using a heated mat, that you increase root growth and a better sucess rate for survival.

Well, couldn't you apply that same princple to growing plants as well.

Wouldn't warm soil, cause plant roots to grow faster, plus absorb nutes even quicker? (not hot soil, just slightly warm)

Every thing i have read says that the root zone needs to be warm, otherwise you gonna shock the roots:D

there are so many small improvements i wish to make in my grow that i can't due to limited supplies here in good old "MG only" town...well, i bet i could find heat mats no problem actually...lol i guess im not too bad off eh? never thought of keeping older plants roots a little warmer, wonder how big of a difference it makes.

I dont find the need to use heat mats as my grow space is warm enough and i dont need extra heat:jointsmile:

lol, i'll stick with that as well. it seems like one of those situations where there isnt a problem until somebody mentions something new you need to get, and up until that moment in time, you were getting along great without it. kind of like when youre so baked you arent even thinking about food, then some jackass says "dude, i wish i had like...a million cheeseburgers..." lol

LOL thats the power of suggestion for you.
I dont see any harm in tweaking things but try one thing at a time tweak too many things at once and you wont know if it works or not.:hippy:
