Ok, so I recently purchased an HPS light from someone on craigslist and they showed me a Lux scientific bong and she gave it to me. Its a very nice bong, diffuser, perculator, ice chamber etc.

The one downside is that the slider broke off within the downstem and was stuck VERY VERY VERY well inside the downstem. I tried soaking it in boiling water in attempts to loosin the res that might be holding it, but was unsucsessfull. I next went to a tiny nail/tiny hammer to try and chizzle out/crack away the glass since it was only a small portion stuck in the downstem. Unfortunately I hit it with a little too much force and cracked the downstem as well.

At this point Im thinking, Ok, I got a free bong screw it, Ill take the downstem out too. Just my luck the downstem was stuck in as well, equally as hard as the Slider. I don't know what could have cuased it, maybe non-use?

Anyways, Once again working with the hammer and nail I attempted to pull the downstem out, however once again found that glass doesn't like my nails and hammer and the downstem broke, along with the molded glass of the bong bottom that held the downstem.

You don't have to tell me, Im a retard. I will openly admit I rushed into it in an attempt to get it working hehe.

I know there has to be people out their with bongs that have broken and they've repaired them.

I did a makeshit repair using clear duct tape and it worked quite well but it just looks tacky, and the tapes seal didn't hold after I rinsed the bong out and it got wet(after use)

Any advice on repairing it or something I can use?

I am taking pics now one moment. I know duct tape fixes all hehe, I was just wondering if theres a better solution. Is it possible/plausible to have it taken to a glass blower? Anything better than duct tape?

And I do appreciate the foil tape input. One second for pics

why not try some super glue? thats how i fixed a broken bubbler, and you can tape over it for good measure. also, even though it takes a while to dry and needs to be held secure while drying, Gorilla Glue is awesome. it will create a super tight bond that wont break anytime soon. and if you do it right, no tape is needed!

yes get a 5 dollar hot glue gun ...
the glue is mostly non toxic like super glue and gorrilla glue..

here is what you do ,,
1. clean and dry the glass very well with alcohol.
2.hot glue what you need to hot glue then use a peice of ice to form the hot glue while it is still hot to make the shapes and designs you need and it will look very good if you do it right.
the hot glue will not stick to the ice and it will allow you to form it .
keep a few paper towels around to sop up the ice melt .
hot glue will peel right off when you want .

I use hot glue on bubblers and bowls that wont balance up or fall over alot .
sometimes ill put little bubble drips of hot glue on expensive peices to help keep them from breaking..
