hey guys im doing a cfl grow and i pre-waterd my pots and everything with luke-warm water and kept the lights on them but to the touch the soil/dirt is somewhat cold and my freshly cracked beans are in there..now i turned my heater on"electric heat yikes"expensive! to run lol but i put it on low will this hurt my babies with the soil being cold...any info would be good..

Cold soil can affect germination time.
If they haven't broke ground, there's no need for light, but if you use the lights for heating them 24/7...make sure to check on soil moisture more often. Don't keep the soil soaking, but don't let the soil dry completely till after they are well-rooted.

The soil will always feel somewhat cold to the touch considering your body is 98 degrees.

Take the sensor from an indoor/outdoor thermometer and place on the soil to get an aprox temp reading. and /agree with deja
