Well I have some seeds that I got from a strain about a week and a half ago. I stored them in an empty medicine bottle in a cabinet chest. How long can I hang onto them at this rate?

put some packing silica, or dry rice, in with them, and put 'em in the fridge (don't freeze, will burst if not 100% dried) ... can last for many years like that ... :smokin:

Just as long as you keep it away from light and humidity, as well as storing in air tight container, it can last months like that. A good idea is to put an object in the container that would suck up any moisture in the container. For example I recently just got my seeds for my grow thats starting mid april and I'll did was put them in a plastic bag with napkins inside, and place that in a box. Don't play with it and crap just leave it alone and it'll stay good

Seeds can last years if taken care of, out of light and humidity.
