Barneys Farm 8 Ball Kush...Anyone ever grown/tried? True that it stays short, bushy with dense buds? Please share your wisdom and experience.

I find it hard to believe that no one ever tried this...anyone?? The reason I ask, if it means anything, is because I have a friend who LOVES Kush strains, it's all he smokes really, and he wanted a kush that stayed short so I said I'd do some research to see what people thought of it.

Personally I like any buds but indica doms are my fav. Any experience/thoughts on 8 ball kush appreciated.:hippy::thumbsup:

never heard of it, (think it's a new one), but I strongly discourage the purchase of Barney's Farm/Reeferman Seeds products (they partnered up, and Barney sells 'knock-offs') ... a commercial-grower friend (expert to the max) grew out several of his strains last year ... Cherry Bomb, Love Potion, Willie Nelson, G13 Haze, etc... they were all identical, same plants, only the G13 Haze differed ... nothing special about their potency, either ... several hermies, (something he's known for) ... my friend definitely won't grow them again ... I have personal complaints, regarding the Barney/Reeferman Willie Nelson I grew, about 3 years ago ... worst garbage I ever grew, proof that you can 'buy' a High Times Cannabis Cup ... absolutely no valid responses from either, when mailed questions/complaints ... AVOID Barney's, :twocents: (you might have better luck finding Master Kush, or MK Ultra) ... good luck

Thanks for the info reaper. My friend actually had success with a BF Violator Kush but thats the only BF I ever saw/sampled. Who is a reliable breeder with some dense, SHORT Kush strains? Dutch Passion, Greenhouse, Seedsman, any of those good?I will check out the Master and Ultra you suggested. I can always count on your expertise reaper, thanks again!:hippy:

tell ya what, I think the most neglected strain out there, is good old Northern Lights  ... most everybody has a version of it, sounds like the NL #5 is the most often recommended ... it's almost always a very economically priced strain, too ... it's usually an indica-dominant hybrid (sometimes, called a pure indica, depending on whose version) nice, bushy plant ... stays short, multi-branches like crazy, very good yielder, and is a hardy plant, too ... you seldom hear growers mention problems, with Northern Lights ... hope that helps give you some choices :smokin:

little info on kush strains:thumbsup:......The Tahoe Cut is the cut from the original seed the sprouted and became the OG kush. It was germinated in Tahoe and that is how it got the name. Theoretically this is the original no "ifs and buts" about being the true original OG.

The larry cut is from a guy living in Orange County named Larry. It is simply supposed to be an original cut from the Tahoe brought down to Orange County. Supposedly in a conversation Larry was asked what kind of herb it was and his response was, "this is some OCEAN GROWN kush". Hence the name OG Kush where OG stands for Ocean Grown.

Theoritically the tahoe and the larry should be identical. But they are not...many say this is because of environment in which they have grown and evolved since...the larry is a little lankier but produces more of an indica body high.

I like banana kush.... it is just an OG hybrid with OG Kush (abusive cut) and the Banana. It is easier to grow than most OG and produces a great yield of nugs that can't hardly be squeezed. IMO many that want the OG but want an easier to grow plant should also try the banana. the banana has that patented OG kush aroma with a banana bottom end to it.

I just want to bump this to tell people NOT to get BF 8 Ball Kush. I had a 10 seed pack and planted 6 of them so far....NONE have even popped up out of the ground. 1 of those 6 I even started via paper towel, it showed a tail the next day, I planted, 10 days later NOTHING. My grow conditions are fine because EVERY 1 of my G13 Labs skunk seeds popped and are doing great along with some white dwarfs. I will trust G13 Labs next time but I'm done with Barney.:hippy:

Update-2 out of the 6 BF 8BK are up and growing fine. I think this strain requires paper towel method because those were the 2 that popped. The rest were planted au natural right into the seedling/soil mix. Hope this helps any potential buyers of this strain.:hippy:

Hey yall,

8 Ball is a beautiful girl. smells so good growing cant wait to harvest!
2 weeks into flower now. My girl is over three months old and 6 ft tall.
She was a mother until recently.

Grows tall and thin, not a stout "bushey" plant at all! short branches.
Kept one from the last clone batch that is vegging now in its third week.
12" - One stem, tall and short branches. No "bush". So I don't agree with the other reviews I have read.

I got mine as a clone from my local compassion club in MIchigan.

I love this plant! Hope she tastes as good as she smells and looks!
