Hey I was just wondering If accidentally left a u vb supplement bulb on for 3 out of 12 hrs. of dark period would it interrupt the photo period the same way a HID or CFL might?

The UV bulbs have a fairly wide spectrum, not just in the UV range. So I'm guessing it does affect 'em. But I'm doubtful one night of interrupted darkness would do much.

I'm experimenting with a 7% (23w) compact fluorescent reptile bulb in my flower room right now. There is obvious interaction of the supplimental UVb, so am guessing it will interact during darkness as well.
Not someting I'd try (on purpose) without having a back-up plan, but I am curious if in veg, one could use it as a stand-alone source.
Was this intentional, or did a timer quit?

Are you running sat doms, or indica doms? On my last run, my indica doms loved the UVb, but now my sat doms seem 'stunted' a bit. I just went thru a bad batch of soil though, so stunting might be unrelated.

How's the light affecting your growth, leaf patterns, trichome development, stunting...
How far are you keeping them from the bulb, and what's your schedule?
I've been going with 4-6 inches, for 7 hours a day. (7% bulb - states that max effective distance is 12 inches)

Bummer.

Any visible results from using the UV light yet?
How long have you been using it?
