i was wondering what everyone's preference is for soil nutes? i was looking at fox farm. i can find the quart size of big bloom, grow big and tiger bloom for around $36 total. i was looking to stay around the $50 price range.
thoughts? opinions? recommendations?
thanks!

I've been using fox farm for about 2 years and It does pretty good. The "Big Bloom" is not so good if you're using hydroponics 'cause the sandy, mineral granulars collect at the bottom of the res and requires extra cleaning. But thats just my experience with it. I once used General Hydroponics' FloraNova 2-part and did very well. Its alittle more pricy but its quality. Their 3-part is really good too.. especially if you have a good ph/EC/TDS meter. Liquid karma is one of the best additives in my opinion. It speeds them up alittle and makes them alot more lush and vigorous. And Hygrozyme(or cannazyme) is anothe badass additive. Hygroz breaks down organics and cleans your growing medium at the same time... definately worth the money if you have it to spare.

good looking out earthy dank! i appreciate it. i'll check out the general hydro stuff. i heard it was good because it was meant to grow only one thing...that one thing that we do. i don't have a pH/EC/TDS meter yet. that's next on the list. thanks agian for the info.

I'm floating the same boat as you, I need to get a ph tester and all that good stuff soon.
I just got some MG- All Purpose plant food.

that's what i'm working with for veg. i have some different stuff called super bloom for bloom. it's like 12-55-something. but i think even with a small dose (~1/4-1/2 strength) is too much N for the ladies. i think that's what is causing my problems. that or the superthrive, but i'm pretty sure it was the fert!
i'm trying to decide which new nutes to go with. i was leaning towards the fox farm, but gonna check out the general hydroponics stuff on monkeybones recommendation. i was thinking of starting a bucket grow too. so i might need some hydro nutes.

Yeah I dont know how promising the mirical grow fertz will be.
One of my bulbs stoped working, So now I only got 2 -5600k -26 watt cfls.
How many do you use?
I posted picks on my grow log, You should check it out...
Does my plants look nearly as big as there supposed to be at 9 days of vegg?
If I get to flowering Im going to try the Mg- Bloom.

i vegged the girls that i currently have in flower under 4 CFLs. (3x6500K, 1x2700K.) right now they are flowering under 8. (6x2700K, 2x6500K). and i've got the new flower box running 4 CFLs. (3x6500K, 1x2700K.) it is a new box though.

I've been using Fox Farms for the past few years, and have learned to love it. I've tried Botanicare, General Hydro and Flora Nova, with results mixed enough to return to one I know works well. Their 3-part, plus some Cha-Ching is what I'd get.

Well the reason I say that, Is because the plant is so tiny.
Its like really small, So I dont want to cutt any growth off that it gets.

okay. i think i've decided. i'm gonna go with the fox farm soil trio right now and try to add the soluble tri-pack as soon as possible. i'm trying to move at the moment so money is a little tight.
hopefully when i pick up the solubles i'll pick up a bottle of the grow big for hydro because i see a bucket bubbling in the very near future!!!
thanks for all of the info and advice!

I also like the FF trio with some blackstrap molasses thrown in during flowering for added goodness :) BONUS, the feeding schedule on their website is great at 1/2 strength or so...sometimes I threw in a little extra big bloom cuz there's so much goodness in it :D

I'd like to mention that the FF solubles are very strong, so go easy with 'em. Can cause lockout overnight if given too much.
