heard it might work. fact or fiction?

Bogus, you don't have enough time or money to get the proper co2 ratio using dry ice. Its just something to try for fun.

Those c02 puck thing would be better but here's the thing. If you can't go all the way with the c02 setup your wasting money.

Warning on C02. Never, never in a living space with peeps. Uncontrolled C02 can displace air and sufficate animals. It can fill a whole house and everyone dies. might as well suck on a tail pipe of the car.

I agree here. If you can't maintain a constant environment and 1500 or so ppm of co2, it really does not have much benefit at all. Plus, if you have a really small growing space to warrant dry ice and or the pucks, most likely you need to run constant exhaust to keep temps in check, plus alot of people on budget type grows that are looking for these methods have poorly designed grow spaces to begin with (not saying you do:)), and the co2 leaves the grow space quickly anyways. While co2 does have great benefit to an already dialed in grow, there are many other more important things to worry about first. Like getting more light to your canopy, locking down temps, figuring out nute ratios. (I just started using Latewood's method....so far so GREAT!!) I am getting my co2 setup next harvest, and wouldn't have dreamed of it until My setup was fully automated, no way I am dumping expensive co2 out with no controller to balance the climate. Remember, co2 only allows the plant to make greater use of it's environment, if the environment is poor to begin with, co2 will not do much to help.
In laymans terms, my roomate awhile back, (hes the guy who started this name on here, I took it over because he lost interest in all aspects of this endeavor except for the smoking part, and I had more experience anyways) used to empty co2 into the grow area from an old paintball gun. No matter how much I pointed out that the 24 hr exhaust just pulled it up and out immediately, he still did it. He spent nearly 100$ on co2 and our yields were smaller, chiefly because he shut off the exhaust to keep in his ghetto co2 and the plants overheated and stunted a bit. A grow later, i maximized yields by being more diligent with nutes and ph, TOOK MORE CLONES THAN I NEEDED AND CULLED OUT THE WEAK! Instead of having 2 good and 2 small plants, id take 7 clones and pick the 4 best and most even to finish. Lastly, get to know your strains. once you know how they stretch, flower etc., you can plan for maximum plant density for your space. All of these things cost nothing or very cheap once the grow is already up, and your yield numbers will skyrocket. Then is the time to add a proper co2 setup, which can up the already good yields by 33%, so I hear!! Sorry for the rambling, just have seen growers fixated on the "MUST GET CO2!" thought process, and neglect the actual proper way to do so. The reason they sell all these little quick fixes, is because of all these "SUPERCHARGE YOUR GROW!" claims. Kinda like all those "Tornado" type things you pay 30$ for then put into the air intake of your car, to maximize gas milage and horsepower. Even though these items are proven to not work even a little, the idea that maybe, for 30$ this may help, and if it doesn't oh well it was only 30$. Same thing. You'll waste time and $$ with co2 tablets, and not really know if they helped or not, and since there are so many variables, you cannot completely blame the pucks!!:hippy:
PS.. Plus are you really going to be able to get fresh dry ice every day for 6-8 weeks and put it in in the morning?? It only lasts a few hrs at best!:smokin:
