Yeah, the male plant produces flowers but much less in weight and quality than a female. One you can sex them, cut down the males unless you want to pollinate your females. One male plant will pollinate the whole crop.
The males are good if you want seeds, otherwise they are a waste of time, energy(electricity), and space.
You could always grow a male in a separate room and collect pollen from it... But for now, just stick to females only.

The female produces buds and the male produces pollen, not buds. I have never smoked pollen pods but I imagine it would make you a headache rather than a head buzz. If males do contain THC or any CBD's, then not enought to be viable smoke. Just my:twocents:

I'm not seatllesmoke247, but both will bud, in their own way...
Budding male plants look like a stick with a few leaves, and bunches of pollen sacks. Regardless of strain, male cannabis will never bud like the females.
Smoking male leaf will get you high if he's mature enough, but a 4 foot male will yield about an eighth of an ounce of dried, smokable leaf. Not worth the effort.

lol. when i was about 14, me and a friend tried growing some crop outdoor. We had no clue what we were doing. And they all (3) turned out to be males. We probably didn't even get an eigth from each plant, and the smoke sucked.

Yeah, I added a picture to show you the differences in fully mature plants. You'll be looking for things called preflowers which indicate first sign of sex, you should catch your male WAY before it has a chance to produce bud like-pods.. (that is the goal)
Google "marijuana preflowers" to prepare yourself to properly identify if you've raised a boy or a girl.
