I have two mothers (Master and Purple Kush) I've been growing for about 3 months now. I have been having a lot of issues with root rot and bad nutrient mixes/supplements, so I decided to flush them with pHed water for a few days before I flower them.
I switched them to tap water only at 5.5 pH and 350 ppm on Wwednesday. I am running a 35W industrial air pump with a 4" air stone in the middle of the 5 gallon bucket. Water temp was 62-68 and air temp was 77 since I made the switch to water only.
Everything was good for 3 days, until that third day when I went down to check on everything, the purple mother was completely limp as if it had been without water and the master mom was starting to look droopy. I figured the airstones came unhooked in the buckets or something, but nothing was wrong and they were still churning the water. The water looked really cloudy and "thick" and there was a translucent slime on the roots of the Master but I couldn't really find anything abnormal with the Purple.
I sprayed the slime off the roots with pHed water, changed out the water, and added a second airstone to each bucket. That was Friday night and it is now Monday and the Master looks sad and droopy and the Purple is still completely limp and has not stood back up and I am fearing the worst for it.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this to happen? Is there something in my tap water sliming up my roots?
For the time being, I am feeding RO water with light nuts at 500 ppm. Is there any hope to save my Purple mother or is it a goner?
