Why is it that most people in our society associate smoking marijuana with making you lazy, unmotivated, stupid, etc. when my experience has been that it actually expands my thinking and makes me more productive and motivated. The complete opposite of what is typically said. Does MJ affect me differently than most people? Why is that?

Everyone has diff. highs and tolerances towards cannabis, you can't assume that every weed you ever smoke makes you motivated, because they make weed that can be a cerebral uplifting high (may be what you smoke) and then you got the weed that gives you the "couch lock" where you don't want to do shit....When I smoke "mids" most of the time it makes me "couch lock" or gives me a headache, but when I smoke some killer weed (some dro) depending on when it was harvested, it gives me more of an uplifting high and i've had the same strain of killer and it gave me "couch lock" So presumably a lot of times it's all about the strain, genetics, harvest time (trichome cloudy:amber ratio), % of THC....There are many factors kinda hard to single out 1 reason.....Just take everything into consideration....I'm no expert but these are just some things I have learned from this wonderful forum site!

Marijuana enhances your current mindstate, if you're lazy than you'll just be more lazy. If you're smart it certainly won't make you stupid.

well, if you read all the posts in marijuana websites, you will see lots of 'lazy, unmotivated, and stupid' people :D ... put me in the 'unmotivated' category ... after 57 years of 'giving a shit', I'm about drained dry ... :jointsmile:

cause its true. you cant tell me that everytime you smoke you never get lazy and unmotivated because you got high. they just blow everything out of proportion to lay all the blame on weed. its not a bad thing to get really high and then think and ponder shit. its better than being bored and sleeping, or sitting around thinking of something to do, because you can do all those things high, and more, yet you will have fun!!!!

Its prob because of the burnt out affect that everyone gets...face it, when your burnt out, your definitely not in the mood to go for a run or do your algebra homework are you? hehe:jointsmile:

Because despite stereotypical stoners merely doing what they would do whether or not they smoke pot, it gives plenty of fuel for the government's propoganda..The government thinks most people don't realize that it has nothing to do with smoking pot. A lazy person is lazy, whether or not they smoke pot..Most people don't know that the responsible person working next to them at work smokes pot, because that person isn't going to key them in on the fact that they break the law to relax, and the government relies on people being afraid to tell people they smoke pot. I on the other hand am quite open about it, as are some younger people..I'm not ashamed, however the majority of pot smokers are not willing to let anyone know what they do on their time..
