What is the relation between using say a 6" net pot instead of a larger, 10" in an Aeroponics system?

I was going to go with 6", but seen alot of people using 10" in their Hydroponics. I know the roots will grow where they want and as they please, but wanted to keep them away from the sides of the bucket (Where my misters will be)

I am just guessing, but I think the larger netpot, would give more stability, if you're growing a BIG plant ... just a guess ... I use the bigguns :D

I have a 5 foot plant in a 6" pot in a DWC bucket. I think it is only the walls of the closet stopping it falling over, lol! 10" would be more stable I'm sure.
