I regularly get reddish purple leaf stems and main stems. What could this be? Phosphorous deff or something else .

Could just be genetics!!!

Is this your only problem? Are the plants healthy?

Carbon filter only removes some contaminants and minerals and never know what to supplement, but may not an issue. It could be a deficiency, most common with purple stems. Try using RO water and a complete supplement for a wk or 2. Also I read something about cocoa and a mineral def but not posative.

red or purplish streaks in the stems, are usually caused by too high a temperature differential, between night and day cycles, and harmless ... it can also be caused by a phosphorous deficiency, not quite so harmless ... be aware, when using reverse-osmosis water, the minerals (calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, iron, potassium, etc.) all have to be replaced ... I stopped using RO water a long time ago, just no sense in using something that 'incomplete' ... better off with spring water, or even tapwater ... also, you shouldn't be feeding every 3-4 days, (once per week, at 1/2 dosages) is much better, you could just be 'locking out' the phosphorous ... :smokin:

well said image reaper. Just on the genetics thing ... I have an afghani that has purple stalks and stems. She is perfectly healthy and I have other strains with all green on the same run, so sometimes it is just genetics.

Thank you all! For your replies. I use tap water through carbon filter to get rid of clorine and let it stay for a while. I had increased pottassiumphosphate in the feeding solution and it did decreased ph level a lot! So I fed them with 800EC with ph level of 6. against usual 1500-1700 EC and 6.2-6.5 ph.
