Basically, I've heard a lot of talk here and elsewhere about taking action etc.
So far I haven't seen a single plan go through. Why?
If we want to get rid of the stereotype we have to take action.

I think we should all post ideas we have in this thread.
Someone said we should come up with a slogan.
Also we need some NEW ideas, not just keep doing marches, that's been happening for decades and still no change; not really anyway.

I've been thinking, and this is just a sort of half-asleep epiphany that I want t get peoples ideas on. But we could use some sort of reverse psychology.
Instead of fighting the drug laws we will just have a mass movement of non-action. If everybody just said "you're right, we're gonna stop smoking", the governments, narcs etc. might eventually just stop putting any effort into enforcing the laws since they believe it's not a threat anymore. Obviously this would mean people would have to get off their asses and tell their smoking buddies this is happening.

In theory it could work. What do you guys think?
Don't just tell me what you think of this, tell me your ideas too. Think hard.

I like the idea, but doubt it would work.
For one: people like myself use MJ for relief of medical conditions, and therefore would become more ailed by stopping.
However, in theory only, your idea is great. I dig how your mind works by posting ideas, concepts, and theories rather than gossip and bullshit.
Personally: I've always had fantasies of gathering all the "heads" in the universe, and organizing a HUGE "light it up" ceremony on the same day, at the same time, (i.e. April 20th, at 4:20 pm) and what could law enforcement really do at that point? There would be far too many millions of people breaking the "law". (quotations are intentional)

But then, why hasn't that happened already? Maybe we need to find the reason for why these plans never go through. One thing I can think of is laziness. The other would be fear of being caught because no one else goes through with it.

So maybe we could discuss reasons these things never happen and how we can fix it.
I'm stuck for ideas on how to fix it. We would probably need a year or so of getting every user on Earth to know about it and need a signal or something of whether you're partaking or not. Like say in the city a few people step outside for lunch, do some signal, then the people near you will know they have backup. It would need to become a 4:20 like thing though, very well known.

They say Obama won because of his use of the internet (I have my own opinion) regardless let say it is so: Oh first, I've been rofl at these, but they are really great, guess it is my meds!!! Anyway, I wonder if we could get nrml of every state that has one distribute the posters. Hell with being quiet about it, hack into Obama's web sites for election (he is using them for informing people at coffee clatches or the same thing again). So, the notice goes out with it.

Then is there is any higher life up there all our blaizing will stoke um so much they come down and visit and we save a great deal of money on space travel to put in to cannabis diesel fuel and lcd brings in a Trojan horse full of stoners waiting to overcome the Washington Mall, they trip and fall down the stairs and are too stones to stand up and not enough dea left to arrest one of them. They are toking so damn much you can't see the White House and then all of a sudden we have World Peace cause the Prez has all the world leaders there getting loaded from the secondhand pot!

Yes, I sure am in: One way or another! For sure! In the meantime, let us each one start something in our own area's. Even if it is a grow marijuana information hour weekly and invite educate people about it. Then have some clubs to grow and the more we feel comfortable to not be arrested or stoned to death no one pays any attention.

Yes, litter. Make up some posters with an image of Al Capone and the words "Prohibition. It hasn't worked yet." and then underneath some modern gangsters and / or terrorists and in smaller print: legalize freedom / legalize all plants. Fire it up at 4:20 pm on April 20th.

And just leave it at that.
If you get tongues wagging, and interests piqued, and we get enough of 'em out there, it'll make the news, radio talk shows, local gossip circuit, etc.

I was involved with corporate marketing for years, and believe me, when it comes to slogans and what-not: LESS IS MORE. (of course this rule is totally opposite in terms of distribution.)

Unfortunately the economy took a big shit on my life, otherwise I'd be offering help. However, if you have the ways and means to produce said promo materials, I can get them out there for you in the following locations:

um, second thought, we can figure out a way to private message that information. But I can assure you, I'm willing and able to cover about 500 square miles of public places myself. I have friends all over the U.S. of whom I love and trust and would do the same for their area.

(sorry: I'm trying to be not too terribly specific on my exact location)

Another easy way for free press is to utilize any and all "call-in" radio shows. Anything from A.M. shock jocks to NPR. ( I am guilty of this.)
If you begin the conversation with whatever they're already discussing, charm your way into this project of ours eventually, and BAM: you've got hundreds of thousands of listeners either laughing or agreeing with you. One thing is for certain, they WILL repeat it to someone else, weather they think you're a genius or full of shit, they will go into work or sit at their local bar or chat with their roomie and tell them about it.
Another effective and cost efficient method of marketing is to distribute the printed materials all over a busy airport. Of course you'll have a proper name or acronym for the movement, and then have that name paged several times over the intercom throughout the day. People will glance at the flyers. Then, when they hear it again on the intercom, they tend to pay more attention and will more likely keep and re-distribute the flyer in whatever city / country they happen to be flying into. I've done this in the past also, (not with MJ movements) and it works beautifully.
The word WILL get out, combine that with printed materials, honey: it's on. Something will happen.

: This idea seems as effective as any, bravo. Once a collective effort to finalize a slogan is made a digital graphic can be posted that all users can print from their own computer. If the support of a print shop can be procured in anyoneâ??s area=mass produce. Since millions of dick wags do blanket emails, why cant we. As many members here, it would take very little time to contact as many other cannabis sites and advise them as well. Solicit silk screen printers for hats and t-shirts with logo and date of action.
And as stated by momma, reporters and radio hosts are always looking for a big story. The beautiful thing about reporter chumps is, if they'll show info on how to find instructions on such things as....lets just say "large firecrackers" and other stupid shit, then they would most certainly give every detail of a mass movement as controversial as this. I am willing to do as much as I can. A thread of commitments and tasks they will handle would be useful as well. Pot is known for enhancing creativity so "BRING IT" people. Also...there has got to be a way to gain the support of the "Giants of the movement" Mark Emery....etc...long list there. Youtube, myspace....

Ok So I was just thinking.
We need to appoint people for certain things. We need a head person for each country or even state.

We need someone for videos and graphics. Someone who knows how to spam e-mails and people who can spam mail boxes (anyone with time, really).

I can do the graphics. We might need someone else too.
Then a couple for videos. So who is capable of making those?

Take your time, but if you can sufficiently cover an area (mainly cities, probably, for obvious reasons) post it here like this.

LCD: Great, organization. Was thinking that also! Kinda hard to do on net, however, it is mostly preferred. I attend meetings and next month I'll talk to our man in charge for ideas and help. He knows some peeps with a lot of name recognition. He actually had a cultivator show up and you'd never believe the rest. Seeing people speak with compassion on subject really fires you up.

I know we have members here with some great connections also. Not to mention, ones that most likely would be great in helping, if nothing else, ideas.

Mission Statement; Simple-do we just want to blaize one time or other ideas to keep it going until it is legal.

Many of us will be speaking at City Council meeting Tues. But, only effects cities in a State of 420/215 that is already in middle of game. Wanting it for all at anytime, like an aspirin in your med. cabinet takes a long pre-preplanned effort.

People are afraid. And we need some guidelines with a Sundance you can talk to, like cannacom: keep it cool headed, make it fun instead of fearful, everyone likes a party. No one likes jail.

I am amazed at the really young that have more hope than we could have had in the '60's and 70's. And willing to promote cause. right now is a good time! Prices are too high and this would drive them down.

I think I'll read up on the prohibition of alcohol. Since, it is worse and it was overturned, may find out more. But, they were killing, etc.

Once we have a few basics settled, especially the slogan. We'll need a conference like IM or something to discuss it. And set dates, etc! Sounds like you all know how to do that. Set up commitees thru it. Think we'll have to use another site to do it.

Basically this is the thread for thinking of ideas that we can use, such as t-shirts, worldwide smoking sesh (420 worldwide in public basically), your airport ideas, radio call-ins promoting what we're doing etc.

I looked through the "post your art" thread and I think the level of talent here is more than sufficient to put a logo to paper. I also posted some of mine there as well. I have sketched countless biz logo's and tatoos so I would be happy to help there along with all who would contribute. I'll look for the slogan thread and post a few of my ideas.
Painretreat....the t-shirt comment...can you hear the roar of applause over here? A snug t-shirt over a nice rack!! In the right setting I think that would get the message across better than a giant roadside billboard. My girl has a 34 DD billboard with free rental space just waiting on the logo/slogan. I"ll be the East Regional Rack Requisitioner, tough job but someone has to step up. lol

kinda upsetting that soo few people have some input on this, being exactly what alows Govt to control the masses. They have a bigger collective to repress the "people" even though the "People" outnumber them a million fold. I guess the few that contibuted to both threads are the only ones willing to take a moment to simply drop a logo or slogan idea?. Very upsetting when you compare that number to the number of members and guests that visit this site daily and the kind of subject matter that does get an ass load of contribution. To each their own though, everyone is entitled to what they are or are not interested in. Can't hate on anyone for that, I just had hope this thread would get alot more support than it has since it goes to the very nature of what this site is for. Or at least one important element.
I personally don't live in one of the 13 states with compassion for med patients so i'm fighting really hard to change that, and I just cant help thinking that there are 100's of world wide chapters for motorcycle and car clubs that have been around nearly as long as pot prohibition. This type organization would totally mirror a smaller pot proponent organization than say NORML or MPP in the sense that they are each a separate smaller chapter that are right down in the small town trenches, have senior officers that attend monthly meetings with the other regional chapters, schedule events, promote membership, raise funds etc..all the same components as any well oiled biz. I just know it would be no more difficult to do with the same mass dedication, initiative and passion for your cause. I guess I could go into furniture sales, since soo many couch cushions are getting beat up and dented. :S2::jointsmile:

I think the problem is complacense and fear!

People are thinking it will be legal because of a campaign promise that was not signed into policy like 'stem cell research'! The day a president signs something for pro mmj or anything like that, you'll see it on the propaganda with him or her handing the ink pen to all the pro mmj people or whatever! If a dispensary or employee of one screws up, the DEA will be all over it! Just wait! The locals are still looking and will call DEA!

That is why people can't and won't log in and make comments. This thread pretty much seperates the growers from the non-growers and draws a big line of divide.

If you were growing and kept a mother around, even in a legal state, you wouldn't want your info here. When someone disappears from here and becomes as stealth as possible-doesn't mean they do not support this. It means; they want a low profile, such as prev. stated. No one wants the law around.

Pretty much: Have to have a simple Idea and Slogan, as stated and start organizing. To do it, you are going to have to take PC buffs and I wouldn't say, SPAM around, but call in radio shows, etc. and say when and how, blaze it up! I doubt any T-shirt campaign can make it without proper funding up front and people to distribute, when everyone wants to be Stealth! You can't blame um. We all still fear jail. And others think it is a matter of time, since Obama is in!

Basically, I'd say use one simple word that draws attention and use it for a tag line on all call in shows. You don't have to say you are going to say one thing and bring it to what you desire to say!

Word of mouth does work! Our MPP meetings have grown so big we don't even have enough room. In just the past 6 mos! People are definitely interested. If people could sign in without naming themself, it would make a big difference. Before 420/215 in CA they were jailing people for just one plant in my locality! Being safe and free is first!

Did you try contacting Safe Access, Norml, Civil rights or any other group you know of?

Truth is: a lot is being done. Except public awareness! don't be distraught, there is always hope and the boards being down, did not help. A lot of the 'regs' have not come back. Including a few MODS! People learned to live without this site! Since, you go on other sites, etc. check them out and start threads in those, also. I do not. Hmm... posting a bit late I guess, but if something like this actually happens (which tbh I doubt), I'll be willing to help out...

Theres not a whole lot I'm good at, but I can do just about anything with Microsoft Word (well actually its OpenOffice but same thing really). The main thing I'm good at though is programming (which is, unfortunately, probably nearly worthless for something like this), so I'll try to come up with an idea that would incorperate that if I can (not including spamming/viruses/etc).

I'll try to come up with ideas/slogans... in the meantime I think I'm gonna try a little experiment on the weekend (if it works it could be something to get an idea from)...
