hps for vegitation mh for flowering???

i have to start off by saying..I love this site and Thank you everyone for the info...

now, i have always used florescent as seedlings, to a 400 watt hps all the way to the end. never had a problem nor disappointed. my ballast can switch to mh but never have used it. i was talking to a friend and he said if i get the mh bulb i should definitely use it during flowering because it will bud better and faster... i have researched and havent found anyone or anything that suggest that. anyone try it or have an opinion?

That my friend would be backwards. MH is for Vegging since the color of light that type of bulb gives out is on the blue side of the light spectrum and that is what is needed for vegging. The HPS bulb is on the other side of the spectrum being red and that is needed for flowering. You can do full grows on the HPS bulb but will see better results if both types were used at right times.

it will work the way you stated, but as the other guy said, MH for veg, HPS for flower = most efficient
