I was just wondering what some of the people on this site do when school starts (being a weed user and all). In fall of 07 I started my freshmen year of community college.. I would get baked to class on the days I didnt have tests and my grades were all A's and B's, and I never had a late assignment. I was taking 4 classes at the time.

So... does pot affect your guyses memories/learing skills? Does it somehow enhance them?? post your learing experiences with pot here!

When I was 18, I went to a private college for a semester, and smoked pot, everyday. I wound up with a 3.1. I transferred to a state college, hung out with my alcoholic friends, and, dropped a class, took four less credits and wound up with a .9.

I never made the dean's list, in my life. The reason why I was in the private college was because of a baseball scholarship, and I scored 1180 on my SAT's, on three hours of sleep, a hangover, and, a 40-minute drive to another town for the test. I had smoked pot, only, three times in high school.

i did wake and bake before class about 1/3rd of of last semester. never did it before a test, no real problems i guess. i got a's and b's and maybe a c (havent gotten grades back yet) but thats only because anthropology is hella hard. i dont think it is bad for you necessarily. hell it made the 20 minute walk from the doors to class soo much better.

some people can do it, some people cant. I smoked everyday my senior year of highschool and wound up with a 3.5. Some people can't like my friend that smoked everyday too got under 2.0

I never was very successful doing the wake and bake go to school thing... much more of a get my shit done and then relax type.

I wouldnt no the other side, with daily toking I managed to get 80s-90s in classes I enjoyed such as shop, auto, physics and science and 70s-80s in ones I endured purely for credit value. Maryjane signed my diploma.

You can still get good grades if you stay motivated.

it depends on your major and what classes you are taking. generally if you're doing anything liberal arts, smoking pot increases your writing creativity and your thought process for discussion.

In math, it sorta depends on if you are a math-oriented person. math is just numbers and if you're already good at it doing math stoned won't be any different.

I find it difficult to be stoned and comprehend the sciences, especially to recall things later for a test. And if you're an upper division science student smoking weed had better be reserved for the weekends!

But in general I've found weed to be relaxing and it definitely takes the pressure off of school. BTW, i'm a 4th year physics major and every semester I'm forced to smoke less and less weed as the classes keep getting harder and harder, but I still smoke to unwind, ya dig? :rastasmoke:

My ADD was worse for me in school than pot was...Of course I did sleep more than I usually did with the aid of cannabis, however I never felt the need to try in school because I didn't intend on going to college, I got out of high school, and made it much easier for myself and spent a lot less time in that cubicle for in school suspension once I went to school stoned...

I can function and think much more efficiently with cannabis, I love it.

I graduated high school with a 4.0 and I was stoned basically all the time, including during class. The grades in university were almost as good....the hard drinking took its toll a little bit (I didn't really do that in high school).

My old high-school teachers/administrators were worse than nazi's. I went to school high almost every day but most of the teachers there knew I was high every day and did everything they could to harsh my mellow, but could never actually discipline me because I rarely brought ganja to school. My new school is really lax on that sort of thing though, the only thing they don't like is fighting, I was ripped out of my mind with and forgot I had a cigg sittin in my ear when I walked into 1st hour, teacher jus told me to put it away and didnt think nothing of it haha.

I remember walking to school sharing a joint with my best freind and sitting in class,I graduated with a 3.0 grade average. So I dont think it affected me that bad, plus I used to skip classes alot too, lol

When I am stoned I am a lot less motivated to do anything and a lot less likely to study or whatever. It depends on the person I suppose.
A friend of mine ALWAYS gets stoned whenever there are university exams. Not during the day but in the evening before important exams. He says it chills him out and improves his performance. This guy is pretty much a straight-A student.

In my past I've learned there is a line once you cross it and decide to get high instead of be at school, you're pretty much screwed after you start blowing it off.. It works for some kids to get high, go to class. Others never make it back on campus for some reason.. Lol. Definatly not going to mix weed with school in the future, I'll save it for after. This is coming from someone attending high school a few extra years.

Peace

I hear these kids who constantly made fun of me behind my back for getting stoned before going to class. I had the last laugh when we got the tests back and I had the best in the class. I told those dudes to their face they should get stoned before class and they would get a better grade. They were speechless they didn't say one word. It was awesome to put that in their faces!

Im a junior in college, a medical patient, double major, and I smoke multiple times a day. I have a straight A average and I see it as a form of activism. I really don't mean to 'rub it in' im just stating that by accomplishing this I help to abolish stereotypes.

It's been a while since my HS and tech school days but I never wanted to bring my buzz down by being in class. I did have a ride to tech school that would smoke me up and I couldn't get into the materials in class at all. I have taken (and given) lots of clasess, seminars and traing since and I'm a straight in class and prefer to save the buzz to relax after. For years drinking and or toking at lunch was routine. It always made the afternoon so long.... I was glad to get away from that. Even when I'm working at home I don't toke until my work is put away.

Im going to say for the majority of people weed would adversely affect them when it comes to learning, at least if you smoked everyday.

However; my finest moment was getting ripped before Anatomy, I dont know why but it was the one class I was amazing at. We had a partners test and I got stuck with James, a judgmental anti-weed arrogant prick, he even told the teacher Mr. Hardie I was stoned, luckily Mr. Hardie absolutely loved me and ignored him, while he was ratting me out I was having a blast filling out the test at a million miles an hour, did I say im good at Anatomy? After arguing with the teacher for five minutes I came up and dropped the test on his desk while they were both still there. He graded it in front of the both of us and informed us it was a 100percent, I just grinned at James and left while everyone else was still working on their tests. Damn I was smug after that
