The Grateful Dead and mind altering substances such as Cannabis go hand in hand. Garcia's guitar playing is somehow in sink with the cosmic. Has blown my mind on many occasions. Favorite years...70-71, 77-78, 66-95!!

I never thought I'd be able to like the dead again after my old roomate decided he wanted to play them 24/7 out of his BIG marshal amp. That being said, I've fallen for them once again. Anyone ever listen to the 2-11-1970 show at the Fillmore East? Allman brothers and GD just tearing it up.

What does anyone think of the spin off groups? I like them all to varying degrees, but I vastly prefer Mickey Hart to the others. That crazy sonofabitch just goes wild.

Couldn't count how many times I've played Europe '72 on vinyl. Got American Beauty on LP too, as well as Anthem of the Sun and Aoxomoxoa on CD. Love them! My mom lived in San Francisco for awhile in the late '70s (before she got deported), and saw them several times, mind well-altered, of course.
