hey ive recently started the 12/12 cycle because i have little space and i wanted to see if i could get some feed back. i was wondering if i could cut of the big leaves that are blocking the other branches from getting light or if that was a bad idea. i veged her for 4 weeks then started the 12/12. what do you guys think? growing under 3 cfls: one 42 watt, and two 26 watts.
my main question is can i clip off the circled leaves to get more light to the branches underneath them? or would that stunt growth terribly?

leave your leaves alone. they are still being used for photosynthesis which means that they're useful for now. you can remove leaves when they are 50% (or more) damaged/yellowed. but some people don't remove any leaves, regardless of condition, until they chop it down. but, those are healthy, useful leaves. leave them.

They seem awfully small to be worrying with that. Shocks a baby worse than a vigourous older plant. If short on space then do some bending to evenly expose the rest of the plant and save vertical space. You will prob find just as many people to say cut em off as would say leave them alone. I have done an identical grow both ways and the result of no triming at all yeilded me 6 oz more than trimming off all the un-needed undergrowth(not pulling fan leaves at canopy). The important thing to me was.. that aditional weight was tiny "schwizzle" and in addition the tops were smaller than the trimming grow. Stripping the undergrowth yeilded very impressive 10" tops and not one of the shaded buds were smaller than a golf ball dried. Far too many variables to generalize these results with all cannabis though. Unless you maintain an exact regimine and environment with identical clones of your strain, there is no way to get a definative answer how it would do.

more light like HPS? what would happen if i just used these cfls. it would get pretty hot in there with an hps light. its got a good amount of light and heat, the temps are between 80-83 degrees.

no HID's :gunfighter2:
if you can add a couple more of them 42w bulbs
or just lower the 26w bulbs so their on the sides of the plant :rastabanna:

More light is always better so HPS up asap. you may have to raise the lights but add another few big orange CFLs during flowering if & you wont regret it. FoxFarms has great bloom nutes. Happy growings:hippy:

good job going with LST, you will be happier in the long run. bloom nutrients? there are tons of different nutes out there. most will probably say go with the Fox Farm Trio.
and in a cab the size of yours, and it looks like its made out of cardboard(correct me if im wrong), HPS would just be stupid. Add more CFL's if you need more light. get some "Y" adapters and throw in twice the amount of bulbs you have now.

hey man they look really nice, as others wer saying u might want to add a few more cfl's to maximize your yield. are you growing in a cardboard box? you might want to try something more sturdy and less flamible in the future, wouldn;t want to start a house fire. other than that aeverything looks AMAZING! can't wait to see the nuggs you pull off of it!
