How well will a coffee grinder work to grind up my weed?

I moments ago i got an ounce of the finest mids around where i live. I have decided i want to grind it up because it makes for a better hitting blunt in my opinion. How well would a coffee grinder work? Im sure someone has tried it let me know please. Thanks. :rastasmoke:

im pretty sure there are a few good coffee grinders out there that work pretty well. i know that redman (or meth i forget) doesnt go anywhere without his coffee grinder and he doenst drink coffee. haha.

i dont know if this is your intention, but if you find a good one, dont grind up all of it at once, it will dry out faster. just grind up what you are planning on using.

Coffee grinders work great, they just have a tendency to chop the bud up too fine. Just rev it a couple of times and you'll be good to go.

I've never done that but from the looks of coffee grounds I think that would just destroy the trics' and powder doesn't make for a good blunt. Any head shop/adult toy store carries a tiny hand held grinder that works like a champ. I picked up one and a keif box...2 must have's. Do a google search and prob find pretty cheap.:thumbsup:

i think RamblerGambler is right maybe if i rev it a few times thats all i will need. if the powder is too fine should i just smoke it out of a bowl? im assuming that would be the best route

go buy a nice grinder with a crystal catcher for $20 instead of wasting the all wonderful crysals with a coffee grinder

dude google true blendz grinders, I have a black anodized 2.5'' one and it's the nicest
grinder I have yet to come across. it's heavy and good quality, you see soo many of those cheap lightweight grinders out there now. those suck

I use a coffee grinder for bud that is too sticky to be cut up with scissors..i don't recommend the coffee grinder for dry bud...it will make it super powder, and make your smoke crappy. You know the kind of weed I mean, the super sticky stuff that you try to cut, and you end up cutting like all of it just to get one joint...that stuff is where a grinder can save your bud.
Again tho, don't use one on weed which is already dry...it will turn into powder making it hard to roll a blunt or joint.

coffee grinders are a bit overkill if u ask me...seams like u would lose a lot of the crystals too... i always use my fingers to break down bud...but if yer lazy and have A LOT of bud to grind i guess a coffee grinder would be convenient...

I have used the same coffee grinder for 3 years,they are Great. People who think it is to rough on weed just don't know how to maintain a good moisture count in thier herb, of course dry herb is going to go powder, if it's that dry you really don't need a grinder. The ultimate bonus is to smoke the keif that collects in the coffee grinder at the end of every month, better than blonde hash.

heh...well chameleon from my experience "blond hash" is usualy just kief pressed...the only difference is its run through a few silkscreens :)


but thats a different subject...


i myself keep my weed in a kief box and i gotta say i prefer my weed a bit dryer so that i can pack FATTIES and still have it burn evenly.... i find a wood box dries out my weed quite a bit quicker than a jar or sealed container..and also by keepin it in the box i still get to collect kief every so often and its MUCH higher quality because it only lightly touches the silk screen...
