What's up, I'm new to cannabis.com but I've occasionally come across the site while surfing.

Anyway, I just recently came across a half-ounce (worth about $185 in here SW Virginia) that is unusally moist. I screwed up and just kinda smelled the bud when I got it instead of checking it out. I've heard that a good indicator of proper curing is brittleness or how easily the stem snaps; it's not ready unless the stems(if any) snap. Mine are string cheesing.

Basically, what are some effective drying techniques? On average, what percentage of volume is lost due to the excess water?

Also, what would you do if you, hypothetically, were sold an overly moist bag, were in a rush, and forgot to inspect it? If you knew the dealer, would you confront him? What would be the best course of action from here?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.

Hey there, welcome to CanCom.
It sucks that your herb is too moist, but never fear you can change that. I suggest leaving your bag open for a little bit...it will dry out on its own. But careful you don't leave it too long, and make it too dry.
I don't see why you would want to confront the dealer...makes no sense. You could be in for trouble, just isn't worth it. Dry it out yourself and then enjoy your smoke, all there is to it.

Oh and you might want to use more discretion in being so candid about your location...just advice tho. take it or leave it.

I'm drying it out right now but the reason I ask about confrontaion is because the bottom line is that I got ripped off. I feel like $185 is enough to speak up. The dealer's roommate is one of my friends so it's not some random corner dealer.

Also, you're right I shouldn't be so open as far as location. But I can't figure out how to edit posts?

Ah I see. How much does a half usually go for in your area?
I would pay no more than 100.
If the prices have you down though, maybe try a little greenthumb action? ;)

A half of good kb goes for about 170-190 around here. I'm interested in growing but haven't done a whole lot of research on it. I might just have to delve into the subject a little deeper...

And I feel like a dumbass but I can't for the life of me find an option to edit posts. Do you mean the next to the Quote button in the bottom, right-hand corner? All I'm seeing is Quote, Quote +, and Reply...?

*EDIT* - well there was an edit button on this post but not on my other ones. What gives?

You can only edit within 10 minutes of your post. Dunno why that is..but whatever.
