Well I decided to make this thread in hopes of expanding my own music library as well as others. So write down 3 of your favorite groups and what type of genre it is. I'll start it up with some of my personal favorites.
1. Shpongle- Psytrnace
2. Modest Mouse- Kickass
3. Aesop Rock- Rap with meaning ( trust me, worth the listen)

just 3? umm well okay... for the moment I guess..
1.Genghis Tron - Technical math/grind metal, with the fusion of electronics, in a totally non-corny way, their album Board Up The House is amazing, and got voted album of the year in a couple respected music mags
2. Boards of Canada - downtempo electronic
3. Jesu - like shoegaze, but slightly heavier, just slightly, it's still pretty chill mellow stuff, just heavier chords
and Aesop Rock is great some quality underground hip-hop... Saw him live outdoors over the summer at the Soundset '08 fest in Minneapolis, great show.

The Black Keys - Awesome blues band with only two members.
The Fall of Troy - rock/hardcore, great guitar and drum parts
Portugal the man - rock band, kind of like rock revival almost.

Yeah just 3 for the moment. I didn't want people to have to post more than 3 for right now. But if you want more feel free to post them all.

If you like underground hip hop, check out Masta Ace. In my opinion, he could be topping the charts right now if they played his shit on the radio. Politics man.
Listen to Soda and Soap. First verse, he uses all these drink brand names in every line, and second verse uses soap brand names. So slick, so sick.
Also check out Beautiful, Good 'Ol Love, Brooklyn Masala, Da Grind, Don't Understand, Hold U, and Nostalgia (with Marco Polo, sick DJ from Tdot).
He also is part of a group called eMC. Check out Traffic, We Alright and Winds Of Change.
You'll never need anything else to listen to.

Trebek - "Music related topics go in this appropriately named "room" on the Cannabis.com forums."
Weelittlelasey - "What is the Lounge?"
Trebek - "No I'm sorry that's incorrect."

Tough choice.
1. Guided By Voices - Lo-fi / Punk / Pop / straight up, pure rock and roll.
2. Grandaddy - Space Rock / Warm, trippy beautiful melodies.
3. Lou Reed (covers solo and works with The Velvet Underground) - Experimental around blues, punk, and rock and roll.
