Hi guys, I could use some activist help in dealing with my HMO. I'm trying to find out if I have a case for discrimination against MMJ patients and malpractice. I've been forced to attend a rehab program for the past 2 weeks (that I have to pay for every single day) because otherwise they will not refer me back to a psychiatrist for help with my depression. I have told every Kaiser staffer (at least 7 now) that I could not afford it and they dont care. They will not write me off for medical leave until AFTER I complete the program so they wont even help me continue their program by allowing me to have a source of income to support myself. I feel its extortion and they're running me through a 2 week drug rehab program to pad their pockets. I have no money and definitely didn't the time to waste. I posted most of my loooooooong story under the legal forum:

All help appreciated!

This is a perfect example of why we need universal healthcare, and not run by hmo's.
Don't know what I could say that would help. You're in one of those catch22 situations where you're screwed no matter what you do.
