Coco growers R U out there?

Is a 70/15/15 mix of Coco coir bricks,perlite/hydroton mix suitable for A Canna Coir A & B formula?

why hydroton?

I don't relly know I'm new to coco growimg and have heard of putting hydoton layer on the top and bottom. Opinions?
