Maybe dumb questions but here they go
Planted 14 seeds, 13 grew and now at 12 weeks
1st off plants sexed with 24hr light... i never turned lights out.
is it possible to use the soil from the now dead male plants? they still have roots in them... if i use this soil for my plant that are female, will this alter the females or make them hermies or will everything be ok?
thanks all:thumbsup:

While I don't think used soil will cause a sex change or influence hermi development, I would not suggest using old soil. That soil will have little to no natural nutrients left and that does your girls no good.
Best idea is just get some new soil.

Well, its usually better to use new soil....
But if you think about it the new potting soil you buy, is also "used soil" in some way....it just has been enriched whit stuff....
I personally have used old soil from my prev. grows without any problems, but mixed it whit other stuff(potting soil, perlite,etc)....
In my case the soil doesn't need to have any nutrients, i feed my plants whit liquid nutes....the soil is just a "neutral" medium.....

thanks
on a budget and just bought the soil 2 months ago.. i have 4 females and 10 one gallon pots that have the soil from the uprooted males, but there are still small roots in the soil from the males... just wanna use it to fill in the areas for the 5 gallon buckets for the transplant of my girls...just wanna know if things can go wrong at this point considering they showed sex at 24 hours of light...and about to go on 12/12
thanks:D
