hello everyone...

2nd ..how long does the root have 2 be before i can plant the seed and does the root have 2 be facing down in the soil when i pot it? and how far down into the soil do i need 2 plant the seed

3rd...when i plant the seed should i put the pot under my light on 24/7 ofcourse or wait till the seed has poped out the soil then put it under my light and start 2 veg??

i would be very greatful for any replys and help ...thanks in advance

IMO seeds don't like be germed in tissue etc. there can be damage to roots

I use promix and perlite in small peat pot with good drainage, dump the seed in, cover with soil and water. Then place under lights 24/0. Keep moist with spray mist of water.

I always plant in the correct moon sign, which everybody makes fun of, but I usually have 100% germination rate with this method. You can use Search feature at top of page to find other opinions.

1) use paper towels, not tissue. make sure the paper towel is wet/damp, but it in a saucer and cover it or put it in a dark warm place. Just check occasionally and make sure the paper towel doesn't dry out. This is just the method I use, there are tons of other opinions out there if you search "germinating"

2) 1/8th of an inch. I've heard arguments for both root up and root down but I believe the best approach is root down. Plant it about a 1/2-1 inch deep. Plenty of info on this site about that (look up stinkys newb guide).

3) You can put the light on right away, although I don't believe it makes a difference until the plants actually have leaves to use the light in photosynthesis.

goodluck.

^^^^Ding ding ding. I agree 100% with everything secret garden said. I have sprouted thousands of seeds in hte method he is saying, and get damn near 100% germination too. I have heard of cloning by the moon, but not seed starting.
To each their own....
good vibes

I like to use napkin saucer plastic baggie if seeds are fresh normally it takes a couple days for them to pop out of shell, I then take a rapid rooter slice it so I can open it up and place it in, than just plant it in whatever medium you are useing.
