I am seeking serious information about how to get legally registered as a MMJ patient. I am living in NJ, a non-mmj state. There is a bill in the state assembly but it has been tied up in committee for 4 years, so I am really seeking to move to a MMJ state rather than waiting years for a change that may never occur.
I do have an actual illness which I hope will qualify me for mmj status. I have chronic hepatitis C and early stage cirrhosis of the liver. This is all documented with test results and doctors notes. There are some domumented symptoms which I think may be well treated by mmj.
Sever loss of apetite, fear of imminent death (cirrhosis can be a terminal disease), muscle wasting, severe sleep irregularities (I sleep 14 to 18 hours a day), chronic, intractable fatigue, and others.
Can someone help me get stated with a reply to this message, please?
Incidentally and coincidentally, I was a serious HEAD back in the 60s and 70s. SO I do love mj with all my heart, but I also do have the disease I described.
I am oh, so tired of suffering psychically and physically without the med. I believe I need so badly.
I would like to make a few good friends here.
Love and peace- :hippy:

welcome, glad to have you here
sounds like you would be perfect for mmj.......what mmj state did you plan on moving too?
Certain states/counties have different rules.....I would find what suits me best(plant number wise) good luck and let us know what happens

Is that mature enough? :hippy: Hon, get your fanny to California. It has the most lenient MMJ laws so far. Bring a copy of your recent medical records, set up proof of residency, and the cash- And you got it made! Oregon would be my 2nd choice. I am not that familiar with the other state's laws, but Oregon and California (I favor Northern Cali) are worth checking out.
Basically, it goes like this in California. You get your medical records (1 year's worth is usually sufficient). You get on line and go here-
CA NORML Medical Marijuana Information (http://www.canorml.org/prop/215physicians.html)
Pick a doctor - call around, prices vary a lot. In the larger cities, Medi-Cann Clinics are about the cheapest place. Set up your appointment. Go in, have a quick physical, talk to the doc about your use, pay the cute receptionist who hands you your recommendation, and walk out legal! That simple- takes an hour. Ya gotta love Cali! :D
And as a mature person, I think you might find the link in my sig to be both educational and mind-blowing! The bottom link is the most up to date. You might even give it to your doctors as a parting gift! ;)

Granny,
I am 56. When I said "mature", I wanted to avoid the pothead type of reply, even though I was a pothead myself as far back as 1965. I have always loved and always will love MJ - it is a gift from cosmic providence. I wanted to avoid "pothead" replies because this is a serious issue to me and I want reliable information, which yours certainly is.
My other critical need is that being a MMJ patient not interfere with my take-home privileges with methadone clinics. I have been on methadone for 35 years. Right now, I get 13 take home bottles each 14 days and I can not afford to lose that privilege. If anything, I want my methadone to be even more normalized than it is now. Ultimately, I believe that I should get my methadone just like any other med - from a pharmacy. But, for now, that is not possible.
Peace and Love :hippy:
