I've never grown from clone

If I picked up a clone that was already rooted a good amount, how much faster would it be compared to seed?

3 - 4 weeks

o very nice, I guess next time I'll just pick up a clone from the clubs instead of starting from seed

what are the benefits of starting with seed?

Actually its better to grow from clones than from seeds

With clones, you will always know you have a female plant,(no more having to sex your plants) you will always know your strain... it will never be guess work as to what your getting (male /female/strain)

Once you have a good clone/strain....you will never need a seed again:thumbsup: You will just pull more clones from your clone:D

Clones rock, I think it is a lot harder to kill a clone opposed to a seedling.

Clones do rock, but from seed will yield the most. Genetic splicing...

But if I plant 20 clones and 20 seeds, I bet I would get more from the clones when it is all said and done.

Genetic splicing....ha, prove it.

given the same amount of days, if the clones are faster by 3-4 weeks then the clones would yield more

I suppose this is a very hard hypothesis to test...:(

I have read about "hybrid Vigor" in my Jorge Cervantes book saying that sprouts from seed will 'endure' better by up to 25% (but I question a lot of Jorge Cervantes' claims:rastasmoke:)

plants started indoors,pre-sexed then moved outdoors may 1. will yeild a lot more, even if clones have a month head start.indoors clones is the only way to go.

All said and done...clones are easy. I use them because to grow from seed, you would have to know the sex and that takes a lot of time (which we don't have). Yes clones are the way to go for a perpetual garden. You will always get more from the plant grown from seed then down the line.
*I know there are feminized seeds but they don't always prove to be stable and female.

Isn't the term "genetic drift" what you're talking about?

Gene splicing would result in a different offspring entirely like a straw-bananna. Or Homer Simpson's "Tom-macco" (1/2 tomato 1/2 tobacco)
