hi,
i have a plant that sprang up to 4 or 5 inches in what seems overnight. im sorry to start a new thread on something that is sure to be there with a little more searching, but i cant find it. i have 2 weeks before i i have to travel 30 hours by car for the christmas holiday (about 3 or 4 weeks long) and i cant take care of it. if i flower it now, will i get even a bowl or two of bud, assuming that the plant is even female? this has just been a learning experience, but it would be cool if i could actually get a little yield. Any tips on how to make it flower faster would be appreciated, just wanna see what i can do.

It would take a good 2 weeks for her to even start growing actual buds. You have a friend you can trust?

They will all be out of town also, even though theyre only about 4 hours away. There is a few people here that i believe are doing the same thing, but they don't know about mine and i'd like to keep it that way. I'm pretty sure this thing is female too, im just gonna keep going on the 12/12 till i leave, then maybe put a timer on it for a while or just turn it off, water it, and let it grow till it dies. It's such a pretty plant though, i feel bad just throwing it away like that.

well, this is my plant, if you can see the little timy one next to it, that was the first one i have pictures of...maybe those are in a different thread...but i thought it died, and i was lookin around my closet and noticed i had a dixie cup with a 2 or 3 inch tall sprout in it. needless to say, i was pretty excited, i transplanted it to the bigger pot, and now this is what i have. i went into my closet last week to check and i noticed that the little brown dead thing that used to be a sprout grew back...i dont know how, it was pretty damned dead. but thats ok with me. The big one is about...3 and a half weeks old maybe. i've been flowering it on 12/12 for the past week, i dont know if it will do anything, but i figured it wouldnt hurt. still cant see anything growin to tell me what sex it is. so is this plant absolutely worthless since im going to be gone for a month starting sunday? i cant take care of it from all the way up in montana.

ive been going over it in my head, and i just cant think of anything. it wouldnt bother me to start over, i had fun with this one, its just the epitome of awesomness, its gonna be hard to part with it. i could automate everything on timers, but im worried the apartment maintenance crew is going to come in over the break and find it. i have to go buy tomato seeds and other vegetables so it looks less suspicious if they see my hydro set up that ill be using next semester.

imo not worth the risk. if you can't even be around to nurse the thing (and chances are it WILL need nursing), then what's the point of exposing yourself to someone who might not appreciate what you're doing? and by "not appreciating" i mean happily kicking you out. i'm assuming your a college student, and any1 in their right mind would instantly disregard the tomatoes and/or other nutritionally wholesome and benign plants and know it's a classic case of student-grows-pot-in-his-dorm case shut and closed know what i mean? beautiful plant btw, i can see you loved her well. but man, wouldn't you be embarrassed if you got caught with a half dead, neglected plant? sorry for the buzz kill, but u knew it was coming.

p.s. how are you so sure it's a female? usually takes a couple weeks into flower before any signs are shown.

yeah, i did indeed know it was coming. you're also right about someone finding it. no dorms though, it's an apartment. this is my first grow, so i don't know a whole lot about sexing. i figured i would just get it into my head that it was female, and maybe the plant would realize that that's what it should be lol. im not sure, and i think i'll just say it was male, that way i dont feel as bad cuttin it down.

Well, *she's gone, in the trash. I'm sitting in Montana now, -20 degree weather. Feels great. I'm going to order seeds soon, and i was wondering if white widow would be a hard grow. if i cant do that i'd be leaning towards northern light. it's going to be a soil grow, but i'll use clones in my hydro setup. speaking of that, i bought those miracle grow singles packets for the hydro. i didnt think they would work well, but there was nothing else in the place. should i order some better stuff off the internet? if so, what would you recommend? no hurry, i have a lot of time. i just walked out into the hallway of my girlfriends dorms, i smelled the Ganj...i should have sniffed it out and investigated further...
