I'm torn between Antony and Cleopatra, Hamlet, The Tempest, Macbeth, Othello, King Lear, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Richard II, Henry IV part I, Twelfth Night, Measure for Measure, Cymbeline, Romeo and Juliet, and the Merchant of Venice. Damn, was this guy great.

Merchant of Venice was a good one. Shakespeare is so damn witty.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead
does that count?

It sort of counts...never read it, but I like Tom Stoppard, so I plan on it.

The thing about Shakespeare is that he excelled in pretty much everything. Characterization, drama, imagery, ambiguity, wit...you name it, he did it better than anyone before or since. I can't get enough of this guy.

I'm always been caught between Lear and Macbeth as far as his tragedies go, but A Midsummer Night's Dream is definitely my favorite comedy by him (can't say I was ever really found of the histories though)

I can see that...personally, I love the histories (though Henry V is grossly overrated), but they're not everybody's cup of tea. Although Falstaff will put a grin on anybody's face.

Has to be othello, not for the play as a whole ore for Iago as a character who in my eyes reflects absolute ambition and the devious nature of the human character!
