View Full Version : No Shave November

So, No Shave November is coming to a close and I just realized I haven't heard nothing about it in the forums, so here is the run down. This is my third year participating in No Shave. The rule is that you cannot shave for the month of November. Plain and simple.
Why? You may ask. Well, it is a tradition we started at the school I go to. It originally was to show your support for cancer. Whats the connection? Absolutely nothing, but good intentions none the less.
Since it was established in 2006, No Shave November has become more than cancer awareness, it is also a good way to live green. Giving those razors and electric trimmers a month off is a good way to help save a little energy or cash if you do buy those expensive razors.
It has also become somewhat popular on facebook too. Blah. Blah.
Well, I'm sure some of you may have heard about this event and many probably haven't. But it is fun to and I like to start a few months early.
This year I just started when football camp began now 3 weeks after the season I don't if I just let this thing go. Pic is on my profile is you care to see. Peace

I don't want to show support for cancer, or any other illnesses. Therefore, I will continue to shave every November, and any other damn time I feel like it.

BA and THCbongman chill out. If I read the post from BA correctly about not supporting cancer, he's making a very sarcastic joke that if you get it, is not insensitive about cancer or those who have been affected by it. The OP wrote:

I am hoping that BA picked up on the fact that the OP wrote he is supporting cancer when in fact they probably meant that they are supporting cancer awareness or supporting research for a cure or supporting those affected by cancer or what have you. I don't think BA is cheering on cancer.
Now play nice.

Exactly. Relax a little guys, if you can't laugh at your mistakes then you're a complete ass.
I just had this vision of a hoard of bearded men pillaging the globe and giving everyone cancer.
I'm sorry, it was funny.

I quoted the words in question in bold, in my first posting on this thread, which should have been a dead giveaway as to the intent of my comments.

November is the month that national stop smoking ciggs happens, seems like a more valid cause.
Cancer is a disease that is allowed to exist mainly by greed, ok to not shave, I don't in the winter anyway but, I would not throw money to the so called cause, unless you feel it saves Jobs.

Yeah I kirked out once on this thread already, so I'll do my best to keep cool with you even though I'm even more pissed off now than BA made me.
Cancer is thousands of mitotic diseases, in other words, dysfunction of your cells. Every type of cancer is different.
If you don't want to do anything for the cause or to help people who actually have cancer, cool. But keep your fucking mouth shut about it.

We are on college. Cancer awareness is every where, t-shirts, wristbands, etc. We just do it for fun. Keep the peace boys!!

I don't shave much as is. I kind of like being hairy. Next time someone mentiones that it's been a long time since I trimmed my beard or had a hair cut, I'm going to say it is for cancer awareness.
Maybe this could be used for other lapses in grooming as well?
"Hey man, you're getting kind of shaggy. When was the last time you had a haircut?"
"It's for cancer awareness."
"Didn't you wear that same shirt the last three days in a row?"
"It's for diabetes research."
"Pheeeewww! You stink! When was the last time you had a shower?"
"It's to fight childhood obesity."
"My God! Look at your fingernails! You look like a werewolf!"
"I'm making a stand against multiple sclerosis."
