I picked up some Obama Kush from a friend who gets cali medical, and its totally legit. The smoke was great, it would crush your brain instantly, very potent. Anyone else come across this?

I have also had some Obama kush that came from cali, and yes it is very dank. I wondered myself where it originated from and found out that "obama kush" is just a fun name given to the best of the purple kush buds in celebration or tribute to President Elect Obama. So Obama Kush is really just purple kush.

For some reason I find this Obama language offensive. They started it during the campaign and thought it was cute! He is too damn old for cute! If he were a comedian, O.K.! His name is odd enough.

Yup. I live in Cali and the med dispensary that I go to had this on his shelves and was priced at the upper range of the menu. Never tried it, but talked to those that have, and yeah...........it's killer. I never did ask for the origins of this strain, but with all the crazy names that pop up, this name doesn't really surprise me.

I actually did some some Obama kush not to long ago. Got it from Mr. Nice Guy here in San Francisco Cannabis club. Really good and a great high.

:D that reminds me a couple of summers ago some dude here in BF Oklahoma had managed to grow this huge tree that they named George Bush. :jointsmile: It was said you could go out one day and pick of some buds and they would al grow back in a day or two. :stoned: It became sort of a legend around these parts, people would ask for it by name, got any more of that George Bush left? :D :rastasmoke:

I may have already said this on this thread but my idea for the Obama strain was that ferrel hemp that grows wild all around here in the midwest. It looks like the real thing but at the end of the harvest yields nothing of real value to the consumer. :D just kidding, I actually think the Obama admin has done more for MMJ that any other president, yeah, not I know that is not saying much but it he still beats the hell out of shrub and bubba. :twocents:

I've now grown 5 generations of "Obama"for my patients.

Clones were purchased from APC in SF when they were open for biz as a dispensary. They are now consultants only but in the day, were named "best club of SF for 2009". I don't remember hearing any reference to "Kush". They simply called it "Obama".

I was told Obama was an 80-20 Sativa/Indica clone with an effect similar to SD which was what I originally wanted to grow. They had no diesel clones at the time, but did have Obama and Romulan. I went with it. My patients and I are happy I did so.

Obama's medical effects come on VERY fast and are very energetic - with a mere two inhalation titration. More is often times not necessary.

Optical, tactile, & sound stimulus perception is significantly heightened during the first hours. Focus is intensified. Often sensory perceptions become cognative seeds for in depth and pleasant cogitations in a stream of conciousness fashion, sometimes interrupted by another sensory stimulus. A positive aura sensation is generated oftentimes creating humorous cognitions about a current cogitation. (giggling)

There seems to be very little dizzying, loss of balance, or other "physical" effects from this strain. It is NOT a couch effect at all. The medical effects fade off VERY slowly lasting 4 hours from inhalation dosing. Second dosing with the strain doesn't seem to increase stimulus perception as much as the first but it comes on just as fast. Other effects remain the same.

SERIOUS cotton mouth often ensues from inhalation dosing with this strain so stay hydrated. Hunger is also intensified.

Application theories: ADHD clients seem to do very well with this as do other "psych" ailment patients. It might also be good for wasting syndrome patients but thankfully, I have no personal experience or patients with that malady. These theories rest upon Obama's mind focusing and mouth effects.
