Well... what is it?

You will need a couple of items first:
1.Glass or Metal or Ceramic (but not plastic) smoking paraphernalia
2.Acetone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acetone) (available at hardware stores and places like Wal-Mart)
3.Nitrile or Rubber gloves
4.Plenty of hot water

Ok so take the piece and fill it with acetone and swirl it around while wearing the gloves continue till all resin is dissolved and dump it into the toilet and flush it or if you smoke the resin put it in an evaporating dish and leave it in a warm well ventilated place. Repeat with new acetone as many times as it takes. Finally re rinse the piece with acetone and then run lots of warm to hot water through it... it will be as good as new!

Warning: Acetone is Flammable and the vapors are harmful to breath SO DO THIS WHOLE OPERATION IN A AREA WITH NO OPEN FLAMES OR SPARKS OR SMOKING AND WITH GOOD VENTILATION hopefully this will keep you from turning into a human incendiary device.

Peace

Sounds like a pain in the ass, how many times does it usually take to get it fully clean?

I've used this method before but theres to many health risks involved in using acetone for me to stop using the salt/isopropyl alcohol mix. HEavy carcinogen etc and I would hate to have any of those vapors left behind in my bong.

before you even start, you need to do some serious homework... start here;
NIOSH Document: Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards: Acetone cyanohydrin | CDC/NIOSH (http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npg/npgd0005.html)

then after you have read and you understand what your talking about, then do some research on what levels are detectable by most humans olefactory organs. Acetone is nasty stuff.

BTW...anybody getting caught dumping HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS down the commode will get you up to $25,000 fine and up to 5 years in the FEDERAL PEN..... plus the clean-up costs(this is the expen$ive part) I don't recommend this.

Just save it in a can or a glass jar sealed, until they have a "house-hold chemical disposal day" where you can take all that kind of stuff to a designated place and they will take it for free.

acetone is bad for you, duh.

That's why you rinse out that shit with a ton of water. Rinse it out well, then using a heater or some hot dry place dry it the hell out.

If you have reasonable glass, the acetone should not have any residual deposits on the piece.
