This is a bulletin posted by DFW NORM'L. But it is actually in Albuquerque.
We seek snitches, Albuquerque police want ad says (AP)
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Albuquerque Police Department has turned to the want ads for snitches. An ad this week in the alternative newspaper The Alibi asks "people who hang out with crooks" to do part-time work for the police. It reads in part: "Make some extra cash! Drug use and criminal record OK." Capt. Joe Hudson says police received more than 30 responses in two days. He says one tip was a "big one" but wouldn't elaborate. An informant whose tip helps officers arrest a drug dealer could earn $50. A tip about a murder suspect could bring up to $700. It's not the first time department has run ads. In a program 10 years ago, police received so many calls they turned the phones off. ___ Information from: KOB-TV, Cannabis.com - Medical Marijuana, Medical Cannabis, California Club, News, Videos, Dispensary, Co-op, Co-ops, Menus, Reviews, Los Angeles (http://www). kob. com

Like it says its not the first time they have done a public "want" ad, and it for sure it isn't the first city to do something like this but i think it sucks that people will snitch when they see the green(not bud:rastasmoke:lol.)
Keep it clean, Keep it Green:jointsmile:!!!

Thats absolutely terrifying. Its pretty easy to not get caught dealing, just keep track of your stuff, make people happy, dont piss off anyone. Now that people can make financial gain if you so much as slightly shun them they could just say fuck it and take a reward on you.
What sort of a society is this encouraging anyhow, its going to spread alot of discourse and distrust, the police are like some little evil shitstarting imp

in all honesty the people who do snitch, rat, or nark or tell whatever you want to call it, are just risking they're lives. if its someone the police are looking for or someone obviously not doing it the "legal" way and making money off of MMJ or just MJ in general, then its probably not someone you really want to snitch on. the cops dont give 2 shits about you snitches, have you not seen all of the stories about drug raids/ operations going wrong with the "informants" getting killed, or seriously injured. 50 bucks really worth them finding out who ratted on them and WHEN they get out(on a simple mj charge) finding you and having to face the consequences that are before you. :wtf::stoned:
im just saying, its the truth of the fact and we should just keep the peace and smoke the herb. :pimp:

Thats absolutely terrifying.
What sort of a society is this encouraging anyhow, its going to spread alot of discourse and distrust. My feelings exactly as I read this I am seeing shades of the SS and Hitler's world where controlling the beliefs and minds of the people through propaganda and behavior modification i.e. don't move or I will shoot you , is the way of the day. The laws concerning Marijuana, medically or recreationally, are a product of the U.S. Government Propaganda machine from 1937 driven by racial prejudice against Mexicans flooding the southwest after the 1910 Mexican Revolution seeking a safer, better way of life. They brought the use of marijuana, slang for Cannabis, with them. The U.S. Government has continued to this day to disseminate misinformation concerning marijuana and its use. In 1940 Congress placed Marijuana, or rather Marihuana, in Schedule I classification against the advice and consent of the American Medical Association. We have elected a new president, the fact that he is half black and that his ancestors came from Africa, means nothing as to how President-elect Obama will treat the "Marijuana Laws" in this country. I fear the fact that millions of people, black or white, who have been railroaded into prisons via our archaic marijuana laws will do nothing to sway Obama to change the unjust and outdated Marijuana laws, especially Medical Marijuana. So We The People must persist in demanding our freedom to use the safe and theraputic effects that come from the marijuana plant. To control my chronic nausea and vomiting from Diabetic Neuropathic Gastroparesis my gastric specialist gave me a prescription for Regalen/Metoclopramide then told me not to take it daily for it causes Irreversible Parkinson like shakes and tremors, and this is legal :wtf:l?!?! So please everyone ride President-Elect Obama and your local politicians, to Legalize Marijuana NOW!!! Peace...:smokin:

We had the same thing here in washington. The state patrol advertized on the front page of the little nickel. They wanted help in finding grow houses. I don't think they offered any reward. It ran for a couple months and then they pulled the ad.
Rat on a neighbor. Good way to get your house burned down.

Hahhaa yeah "snitches get stiches" and "rats get bats" as I have heard, and thats how it should be... I mean who would sink so low to narc on a plant with none-addictive qualities, and is just the greatest thing on earth. Long story short, support your local herb provieder... If you get caught, keep your mouth shut. Cops will say they'll give you a lesser sentence for snitching BUT THEY NEVER DO!!! So dont snitch and you'll go along way...

That's all fine and well when it comes to murderers and actual crimes that have innocent victims, but BUD? Are you effing serious? One of the millions of reasons to legalize: even if I didn't smoke, I doubt I'd want my tax $$$ spent on rewarding kids who were dissatisfied with their dime bags. :(

There shouldn't be any penalty whatsoever, EVER, weed-related. If you have a HUGE grow-op in your basement, you shouldn't even get a fine. No, not even confiscation. By growing pot you are providing a service to people who wish to use it, whether medically or recreationally. Since the people have every right to toke, somebody has to provide it for them and the government has no right to punish that service or take away a person's trade goods. The government also has no right to regulate it like alcohol and tobacco, since these are deadly poisons and weed is almost totally benign.
