So my brother decided to join the Marines last week. No he doesn't blaze:jointsmile:

He is my kid brother and I am pretty worried about it. I have been online looking at information about bootcamp and trying to collect advice. Has anyone here gone through boot camp? Is he going to be a completely different person when he gets out?

I found this article that seemed to give potential recruits good advice. Does this seem accurate?
How to survive Marine Corps boot camp. (http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-survive-Marine-Corps-bootcamp)

I have been high ever since I heard about this. I don't know how to take this news:(

I pray for your brother's safety, and thank him for his sacrifice ... God bless him ... yes, he will definitely be 'different' after Marine bootcamp, he will have a sense of purpose, and a more responsible attitude ...

I can not answer your question just a kind word. My baby sister joined the Army. She is out in the desert now. I worry every day.
Thank your brother for his service from me.
Sending Prayers for Peace before he ever needs to leave the USA!

Be proud of him, and pray for him. Marines will change him yes, it will make him stronger. While I may appose war and violence, Marines have my utmost respect, my Grandfather moved from Germany and became a Marine around the time of wwii. He is now a member of a local detachment and this time of the year is busting his ass doing toys for tots despite his age, he actually got a "Marine of teh Year" award last year, family says it was his proudest moment. My prayers and thanks to your brother and your family.

haha nice.

much grattitude coming from me. i have the utmost respect for anyone who joins any armed forces willingly/undrafted.

not everyone has what it takes to be a marine, its no cakewalk getting in there. "bootcamp is like a kick in the balls" is probably an understatement. from what i understand its 13(?)wks of hell. for a reason.

tell him to keep his head up and stay strong and he will do fine.;)
