re-veg mother question

hmm this is something ive never done before and need a little advice. my mother plant has been cloned several times now, the clones grew to adulthood and finnished so i flowered the mother and got loads from her but i didnt cut her right back. same day i harvested i decided to put her back under 18/6 hours of light and has begun to veg again, am i wasting my time with her now or is it posible to get another good crop from her?
i left about 20 small flowered buds on her and the stem is really thick and healthy looking. as i said ive never tried this before so im wondering is im wasting my time with it now? thanks

I wouldn't say you're wasting your time. It just depends. If you really like the plant and have no more seeds, if you can't get any other clones, etc, then why not reveg?

I'm revegging 3 plants right now, because I'm having trouble getting beans, don't know anyone else that is growing, and I KNOW the plants are female. When I harvested them, I let only two little nubs of buds on each one. After about 4weeks, I've got plenty of shoots to cut and clone. I've done this in the past and it's worked for me.

Go for it, you should be able to get a decent second harvest out of it. I have a plant that I'm blooming for a second time now, in fact. I had reveged it because I under-estimated the plant and didn't keep any clones. It turned out to be very nice, so I reveged it and took 5 clones off. Since it had recovered so nicely, It's back in bloom again now.

thanks for your replys fantastic :)
i also forgot to mention about repotting her, she's is a huge pot anyway and the pot holds about 3/4 of soil from a standard growbag. infact the soil she is in is actually cheap and chearful soil from a standard tomatoe growbag :D but i only feed her when i think she needs it. ive put her back under 2 flurresant lights. 1 standard white (for brightness) and 1 aquar-glo for the high blue/red spectrum. my other 430w hps veg light seems to have died a thousand deaths and i have no money to buy a new bulb as its xmas now. once again you buys n' gals have been great thanks :thumbsup:

my mother plant did suffer from some kind of mite tho i dont think it was spider mite but anything is posible. the leaves did suffer serverly from billions of little tiny bite marks and now its in veg stage with all new leaves appearing what would you recommend to get rid of these annoying bugs? they are so tiny yet do so much damage. i know she was infested with them badly but now all the old leaves have gone im sure some of those bugs will remain. she was harvested about 4 - 5 days ago now and she seems to be surviving quite well.

LOL, I guess I am not, for some reason I thought you were trying to re-veg her just to flower her out once again. If its possible to get another good crop from that mom plant, I wonder how her clones would do?
Re-vegging works real well, here's a tip, of the buds that are left, take the top part of the bud off. this will excite the hormones in the plant to flip to veg about 2 weeks faster.

I try to remove all of the underbuds, just leaving some of the 'baby leaf' growth. I don't know if it's something to do with the residual flowering hormones that remain in the buds, or what...but removing them seems to bring about the transition back to veg stage a bit quicker and smoother. Careful with leaving the 'popcorn' buds tho...They hold external moisture well, and mold can still set-in.

the trouble is i started this topic 'after' i harvested. i didnt leave any main leaves on her just the smaller lower buds. some have turned crispy now which i guess was to be expected but she is still alive though growing extreamly slow. its been about 3 weeks now since i harvested groth is really slot. i have 3 new baby seedlings growing quite well so i have something to fall back on if she doesnt make it.

Keep her watered but don't over do it, I used a little superthrive in my water.

Crispy doesn't sound real good.

i havent touched the roots at all, infact she is still in the same pot and soil. i just harvested and left the smaller lower buds on her. only some parts are crispy about %5 - 10% of it. would it be best to carefully dig it up and trim the roots or leave it now? there are signs of very small new leaves appearing but they are really tiny. the stem is really thick and healthy looking but i doubt that matters. ive wondered if its best to remove all the flower parts and leave only smaller leaves but if i do that there would be almost no leaves left to catch energy. im not too bothered if she dies as she has done very well the old girl :D

I like to trim the roots and re-pot in fresh soil to help alleviate the probibility of ph swings further down the line. (when the buffering capabilities of the old soil degrades) But, if you've already put her back into veg, I'd let it go till ready for 12/12 when you can transplant to a larger pot with some fresh soil. Plus, the additional stress this would cause might be too much for her since she's already acclimating. This isn't optimal, but I've gotten lazy and done it both ways. Might want to pay close attention to ph.
At the very least, you should be able to keep her going good enough for some clones. :thumbsup:

I like to remove the buds, but I don't know if it really matters. I've done it both ways, but it seems popping the buds gets a bit quicker response, and results in a cleaner looking, less sticky plant. I do know it doesn't seem to take much in the way of new shoots/leaves, and that the plants root network is still operational and ready to devote their full attention and efforts into making sure these baby shoots survive.

Sounds like what ever your doing is starting to work, keep it up, you almost got your plant back. Just let it do it's thing.
