BOOM! Bubblegum getting hairy!

So here's the new log, and the long awaited pictures of the girls currently flowering. I'll start off slow and work up to the big buds.

Unfortunately, I only have two girls in week 5 of flowering. However, two clones are ready to see 12/12 and 4 or 5 more clones will be ready in a week.

I'm taking in all ideas and suggestions on how to grow the 6-8 clones. I'm thinking lst, or scrog. might take the popular vote, even though i've never tried either methods, and would most likely pick the easier one if the decision was left up to myself. also interested in FIM and topping a couple of the babies so start throwing ideas my way!

Yep! they sure are. I only bring em in there for 10 minutes so they can drain after they eat. Then i put em on towels to absorb more water in an attempt to water them more frequently.

Heres the clones up to date. The two big girls are almost 3wks old and their about to go under the 600w. All i have to do is finish my drip/hydro setup!

Finally took pictures of the drip setup/dwc. I woke up this morning and noticed 4 or 5 gallons of water on the floor, big surprise. Now the drippers are duct taped to the res, only a temporary fix.

The little female is showing a LOT of red hairs, yet the big female doesn't have a single one! looks like i'll get some buds early :D

Lights came on manually today, thanks to me, only 2 and a half hours of extra darkness. So i bumped the timers up 2.5hrs to give them their full 12hrs of light. Bad idea?

Oh yea, thats my brother with epilepsy in the pic's, giving his seal of approval.

I made a nice sized carbon scrubber for my 8in wind tunnel today. Took me a good 3hrs to make, and a huge mess of carbon all over the floor afterwards. I thought it would be restrictive on the fan but its not at all. Theres still the same amount of suction on the grow room door so its gota be doing its job. I'll take pic's of it tomorrow. cost me $12 in carbon, $8 in panty hose, and $7 for the end cap and other connector. So its pretty damn cheap!

Thanks man! I'll have to borrow my sis's top of the line digital camera for the bud porn pic's here in a few weeks :) Their growin in soil, good old miracle grow, seedling mix. haha
The one in the 5gal has some other special kinda soil from the hydro shop and lots of perlite. I'm debating on whether or not I should transplant the smaller plant in the 2.3gal pot. Might be to late to benefit from it. I'm done with soil after this, soil fuckin sucks imho.
I'm new to hydro but i've got a lot of patience due to my love for growin plants so if i fail on this first round I won't just throw in the towel. I'm in it for the long run! haha

Flower with a 600w hps hortilux bulb, this bulb had the pleasure of growing massive amounts of plants in a huge wharehouse before i ever got it. The guy just gave it to me and said don't be surprised if you're yields go way up when you replace this bulb. Its at the least a year old. Seems to be working just fine though :)

Cool, I bought some hemp string for $1.50 and went to town, the big girl is safely tied up, now i'm wondering if i need support for the main stem. maybe a bamboo shoot tied to it.

thanks man! wait till you see week 7. I'm going to lay off the nutes at the end of the week and use clearex on them for a couple weeks. ro water is giving me weird ph readings. I don't know if i have a bug problem or if my ph is off but i'm getting yellow spots on the tiny female.

I see you use hemp cord or string to tie your plants back. It has been a long standard practice in gardening to use no organic materials when tying or supporting any type of plant. Nylon stockings, plastic insulated wire or bare metal wire, for tying the branches rather than using cotton or sissal or hemp. For stakes I'd use metal or plastic pipe, trellis or other supports over wood. The organic materials can support harmful bacterias, virus, bugs etc. much better than plastics, metals and such materials. For example, Grandma used to cut nylon stockings into strips to tie plants.

I'll definitely take that suggestion into consideration! hehe I was higher than a kite when i bought that hemp string. I've got some spare stockings left over from the charcoal filter so that makes things easy. thanks man

I'll be updating the pic's in a few hours, the chocolope got big! haha and 2 more sprouted so that gives me 3 chocolopes and 5 bubblegums left! Although one bubblegum is scrawny as hell and most likely will never make it out of the bubble cloner. Tied down the 2 bubblegums in the 12/12 hydro, trying LST. I forgot to mention the runt tagging along with them, that would make 6 bubblegums. I won't count her because of how deformed and mutated she is.

Ph is 5.8 on both hydro setups, big one runs 900ppm and the small one is at 600 ppm:D I know, i'm forcing them to eat a lot.

Thanks man! cant wait to harvest! I had an accident last night with a fan that fell, broke the top off one of the clones in the drip setup, and made a chocolope seedling fall out of a cup. Got lucky with the seedling but i lost a good 2-3 nodes on the one clone. I'm thinking about abandoning the LST so i can easily pull the bubblegums in the drip system out and into a dark room with a bubbler so they can sleep at night while the 12/12 hps goes to 18/6 so the chocolopes can grow under it. It's that or run 850w's total and use my 250w mh for the choco moms. decisions decisions. haha


btw, I'm glad i got that hemp string out and tied it down with pantyhose, gave me the motivation to find and modify something to tie the main stem to! I'm sleeping a lot better now, not worrying about if or when she'll snap :D

man i have a lot of thinking to do about how i'm going to dry the buds out, and when to harvest, and how long i feed them sugar daddy, switching to molasses since im about out of the other juice. the trich's are mostly cloudy, some opaque, with 80-90percent red hairs, I'm thinking about going with technaflora's schedule of 3 days sugardaddy and 4 days of flushing/clearex. The other lady, way larger lady, only has about 10-20percent red hairs so i'll keep her on nutes for a bit.

do you have a 30X handheld microscope or anything? if they are about 75-80% amber trichs you should be harvesting if i'm not mistaken. you are gonna start loosing THC i believe. so i wouldn't be giving anything but flushing. don't count on my information/direction too much. just trying to help out.

also, about the mylar, just frame out the open part of your area and get some of the black white tarp or something to finish it off, or for that part, make an offsetting double slit door to keep it dark during flower.

yeah, i'm flushing the small one tomorrow, using clearex. I'd like to cut the one down after 7 days of flushing and the bigger one 10-14 days of flushing just so i can cut one down earlier and also see if theres a difference in taste from flushing longer. I only have a 15x magnifier but it looks like the trichs are mostly milky, and the hairs are 90% bright orange on the little female. I snipped a bud today and quick dried it. Felt kinda stoney, complete opposite of what I thought it would be. Maybe I do have some amber trichs :) damn, now i gota get a better magnifier!

If only the pic's could do them justice! week 8 day 4. finished 3 days of sugardaddy and now i'm flushing the small one. Nothing but water today, and tomorrow = clearex. the pic with more red is from a 42w 2700k i put in the bathroom. The buds actually look a neon green next to a 42w 2700k cfl.

Shov, I read you're post about trichs and bubblegum. I think i might be in the same boat! I've seen a total of one amber trich. lol maybe its just the 15x magnifier.

Dude, wait till you see the progress in the hydro setup. I'm about to shit myself. I've done a little smoking on it and it seems to get you pretty high. I'm definitely lucky to have something so fucking crystaly for a first grow, indoors that is, well, you can't even count the outdoor grow because my 6ft tall females were pulled out of the ground 2 weeks into flower. yeah, all my hard work dragging gallons and gallons of water to them and feeding them nutes, putting up dear scent repellent. I won't fuck with outdoor growing until I have some land of my own.

First picture is the last bubblegum clone, i was actually patient enough to finally get a clone with normal 5 leaf nodes. I FIM'd it and now it has 3 main stems. :D just went into flower this week.

The two other clones should now be finishing week 3 and the big bubblegum will get chopped soon. I had no idea how many amber trich's are on it. I broke down and bought a 60-100x microscope, you can't see amber trichs on a 15x magnifier in my opinion. I got a feeling this plant will have 60-70% amber after flushing for a week.

Charged with nothing but misdemeanors thanks to my brothers medical need for the plant. It helps his epilepsy. and yes we'll be moving to a legal state so i'll keep you posted. :thumbsup:

I wish, I really do wish I had some more started but i lost it all right after my DNA strain chocolope's sprouted, one made it to about 8inches. Once in a legal state I might just grow some more. thanks man, I did mass reading on the boards and bought a lot of shit to get my girls budding like that. All it takes is effort.
