Hey guys,

I FINALLY found where to start my log. I saw it a about a week ago when i joined but then never saw it again.

Well im growing 2 different types of chron, just not sure what they are.

My set up is a closet about 1.5 ft x 3.5 x about 5.5ft.

Constant temp @ 78

Humidex try for 90% ends up around 50% if there all getting thirsty.

Manual flooding every time i water (every 1-3 days depending on the plant)

Soil-Feeding them Pure Blend Pro Gro (med dose @ 20ml/4L)

400watt Hps and 250 watt MH

There just over 3 weeks right now and i decided to force 2 days ago.

My best growing tip is put them under 36hrs of darkness before going into 12/12. Makes them show sex faster, and maybe even bud faster!

Yea I tried it, and it worked on one plant, showing sex 2 days into 12/12. The other one didn't show for a week.

i think im just going to leave it @ 12/12. I DONT want tomess up the cycle there on right now.

I did notice some different marking on my plants today. Still too early to tell though.

I'll be transplanting them today to bigger pots-havent watered them in 3 days now (if i didnt know any better id water them 2 or 3 times a day. within 12 hurs of watering them there dry as far as i can get my finger in.

well they really seem tolike the new home they have. I dont know how it happened but there all the SAME height after last night.

ive started 3 of them on the bloom food and am continueing the other 3 on the Gro food.
they all took abot 2l of water this morning!!!! and i still cant dertime the sex, its only been 3 or 4 days of 12/12 though.

There looking great accept for the fact that right after i water them they all droop. Is this normal?

well ive managed to find a new digital ballast for my 1000watt hps light. Im now wondering if the 3 lights will almost be too much... can anyone tell me?

I want to keep my 250MH, 400HPS, and add the 1000watt hps too. all this in a TINY closet... i figure as long as i can keep the heat down it should be ok.

Anyone know?

HOLY SHIZZ this thing is bright and hot!!
So ive decided to take the 400 watt hps out due to the fact of heat. its only been in there for about 25 minutes and the temp is almost @ 80f already. Im going to have to get some kind of 'Cool' fan tomorrow.....if there is such a thing.
Im living in an apt and im kinda paranoid too. BRIGHT i have 3 sets of dark curtains up and its still bright as day outside the wondow, i dont want to tape anything black to my window either because that would be just as bait in my opinion.

well they LOVE the light thats for sure. Im a little worried though because i read somewhere that if it is too hot then the leaves will curl up. my leaves arent exactly 'curling' from the end of the leaf back to the stem but the leaves are kinda like V not flat. is this ok?? also im going to have to water every day i think.

plants are lookin good man, i bet they love that 1000w. what kind of ventilation you have going? My leaves are curling just like yours, the tips runing down the leaves are pointing like a V. I'm going to look into that right away so i'll let ya know.

It looks too early to tell, my larger female had a single ball(well actually 4 single balls on opposite sides) just like the one in you're pics and white hairs never came out of them until the plant had buds the size of pennies. Now they are the only red hairs on the plant. I thought for sure it was a male since my smaller plant showed hairs 2 days in.

So what are you going to do about the smell? my 2 plants were stinking up my whole apartment until I made a carbon scrubber for my 700cfm fan :)

well WTF i woke up this morning and 5 of my 6 plants seem to be male. as for venting im really ok with how it is going right now. i got another fan and its under control.
Now my question is, i could make alot of hash with the males and if i only end up woth one female id end up flowering both male and female in the same room, due to space issues. any point in this????

LOL @ flowering male and female in the same room, I predict seed filled buds in the making :) mmmmmm. The point would be to not do that, unless you're looking to get seeds for the next crop. Btw, I didn't ask you about ventilation in my last post, i just asked what you planned on doing about the smell. ventilation goes hand in hand with that so maybe thats what you were thinking.

haha i didnt realize how much its going to smell..... doesnt bother me @ the moment, there really isnt any smell right now.
After taking about an hour to look @ all of them im pretty sure its too early to tell the sex of 3 plants.

I have them in different closets right now and im still not sure what ill do with the male plants.

it seems that all my plants have @ least 1 SMALL TINY thing by the stems. Now it is possible that the female hairs will still come out or are the almost def males??

Haha I never said that. The white hairs were the first step in forming buds, there were buds the size of pennies all over the plant before the hairs emerged from the ball at the stem. Guess its a pre flower, dont really know the technical name.

Um, is it completely light safe? Like, in your darkness period, the plants are in pitch black right?

That would be a major cause for males!

yea its %100 tight. I didnt use any ferts in 2 of my plants, and still one plant is showing nothing @ all, the other im sure is male now, and ive got the other 2 males in a different closet. Im going to kill them all tonight.

FUCK ME im pretty sure i have 1 female-doesnt matter right now though.... my 1000 watt digital ballast went on me this morning!!!!!

i turned it on and it started smoking right at the switch.

if anyone could help that would be awesome!

Problem: the switch is (left MH right HPS)

Now there are 2 wires to the MH side of the switch 2 wires in the center (there the ones smoking) and one wire on the right for the HPS.
im currently using the 1000 hps switch and light. as SOON as i plug it in to the wall WATCH OUT

The last 4 plants i have are all FEMALE!!!!

Since this little scare of them all being males ive decided not to put any food in there water for the rest of the grow.

This morning i trimmed all the bushy undergrowth that would never come of anything and decided to start LST 1 plant.

Looks like things are getting a little interesting now!

Ive also pulled the 250 mh bulb (for good) and am only using the 400 hps untill i can get my ballast for the 1000 fixed.

well the electrician was just here. turns out my switch is fried, which is weird because i only ever touched it once-when i set everything up. so we decided to take the mh/hps switch right out and bypass it so i can only use HPS. BUT when the switch went it blew my damn bulb. looks like some more $$ needs to be spent.

Im sooo upset that my 1000 is busted. im still not too sure if its the ballast or the bulb. i mean the bulb looks %100 but wont fire up, there is a wire that is not connected to the ignitor in the ballast but the electricion said it was ok. we plugged in my 400 hps and it lit RIGHT up as did my 25 mh (mind you the 250 doesnt need the igniton). guess ill see tomorrow when i get my new bulb.

what kinda bulb were you using on the 1000w? I'm sticking with hortilux bulbs for my next purchase, i have 2 600w bulbs but their both a year or so old. I somehow doubt you're ballast is messing up.

its deff the right bulb im not 100% sure right now. i know the ballast isnt fireing up because the god damn dude didnt connect 1 of 3 wires for my ignitor.
but all my babies are doing great and looking mighty yummy.

The good news is that ive fixed my ballast this morning. The bad: i now have no time to put it back into my new closet and make sure its not going to be a fire haard. oh well gives me something to do tonight.

Im really excited for the 1k as all growth slowed right down when i put the 400hps and 250 in.

Lookin good so far! Wish I had a 1000 watt ballast... that would sure be nice! I'm stuck with a 400w now, but it's given me a solid 5 oz dry crop, so I can't complain! I was looking at your first set of pictures, and... umm.... did you notice you can see EVERY detail of your fingerprints? Every single line, bro.... might want to remove that picture. I know I'm paranoid, but I'm just tryin to look out for ya!

ok i'm no pro but the best way to have your lights imo is horizontal(but make sure your globes are universal or able to be put that way) globes can have certain specs some can only be safe one way. anyway the reason i say horizontal is the light will be given to the plant(s) the whole way along your globe that 1k hps is sending all its intense light sideways. maybe i'm wrong anyway thats my opinion.

I cant believe how well they are coming along. I decided to to add some Pro blend Pro Bloom yesterday before i turned the lights off. (30ml for 8L)

So now im wondering if my 1k bulb is too close. I have no burns or heat issues (even with a 1k, 400 hps and a 250mh in a 1.5x3.5x5 closet)

I read somewhere that the light should be @ least 10'' away from the plants and ive managed to get them within 4 inches. My plants is less than 2 weeks into flower and they seem to be close to others around a month........

looks like a spoke to soon. ive completely burnt 2 colas. well 1/2 of 2. i was like no effin way are they turing dark already (buds are no bigger than 1/4 inch) so i took a better look, touched and......crumble. 1k hps is now about 2 feet above plants.

Im starting to ecpect that i wont be getting much from my 4 ladies as i forced @ only 3 weeks of veg and 6-8inches. there looking really good right now and are all about 2' or so. many bud sites, but how much can i expect these buds to grow? for me to even get 2 oz total all my buds would have to 4x there size.

That sucks you burnt you're plants man, keep the lights at the very least 10in away unless they are air cooled. Thats just what i've found from personal experience with a 600w. A 1000w could need more distance depending on ventilation and air circulation to keep temps under 85deg at the top of the canopy.

i now have a good distance between the lights and the plants. i can see how people almost prefer using a 600 or even a 400 w instead of the 1k. i can def get the less W lights closer.

Watered them today with the same as before 30ml Pro Gro Bloom - for 8L of water.
gave them a light mist spray as well.

I must say i did a great job, made a hell of a mess though. ive heard that its not such a good idea to transplant when there flowering and my reason isnt because of the plant stress but due to the fact that you have to tip the plant right upside down. :p

Here are 2 pics of the new home.

they seem to be enjoying the extra room. I was only able to get about an inch deeper but much more room on the sides. I watered with 30ml Pro Bloom for every 8L. Im pretty sure i can add a little more than 30 ml but i dont want to risk it.

As you can see i have the 1k hos in again. temps will be around -5 today outside so it SHOULD keep the temps down while im @ work.

Well not much new has happened in the past few days since transplanting them. And to boot, I got my brother in law to shut the lights off and 'close the closet door, put the towel at the bottom'.

when i came home i noticed the towel at the bottom of the bedroom door, and obviously not the closet inside the room- didn't think twice about it. Jut a few minutes ago i remembered that i didn't ask him to shut my windows (its about -10 with the wind right now) so i went in the room, shut the window and realized he didn't shut the closet door....???? Damn am i so confused as to how he wouldn't realize.... oh well.

Now i'm sure there stressed to shit. Just transplanted and now this...

well i woke up this morning and took a good look. to my amazement ive got a few buds almost covered in red hairs. on the down side my dope is smelling pretty piney... as i said before im not sure of the strain, but every time ive had this 'pine' smellin dope its been pretty shitty. well here is a pic.

im disappointed i didnt veg them a little longer, not even my top colas are worth a gram to me thats how small they are. im hoping they will still flower for another month or so, that way they can still get larger.

all 4 of them are doing quite well if i may say so, basking all day under 1400w of hps and 250w of MH. GOD DAMN, come to think of it im well over 100w/sqf.:stoned:

So i did some math and i hope its correct.

Looks like im putting out a total of 235,000 lumens and a total of 1650 watts in a 15'' x about 3ft. closet.

works out to about...... 1.3ftx3ft=3.9sq/ft
Lumens sqf = 60,256
Watts 423!!!!

One thing i do notice though is that ive got a lot ALOT of red hairs already and im only about a month into 12/12. buds are no bigger than 1g at most...... plants get stressed very easily if im not right on with the temps..... over the past week the temps have shot up to over 130f for a period of time, also temps are constant at over 85...about 87..... ah well. if i had a 600 hps thats all id use but i dont so....
