i second that.
However, i'll try to compose a list off the top of my head:
Sleep aide for those who cannot sleep easily
Appetite aide, for those suffering from the effects of a loss of appetite.
it often works as an anti-depressant
the seeds contain the second highest concentration of protien in all known foods, second only to soy, as well as containing many essential amino acids, even one not found anywhere else!
The plant is chock full of fiber
The brain has cannabinoid receptors, which should be evidence enough that we were designed to use cannabis. a study done on mice where they blocked the CB1 receptors indicated that a particular cannabinoid effectively rationalizes our fear receptors, as the mouse whose CB1 receptors were blocked, would become irrationally frightened to the point of paralyzation.
Industrially, it can be used as a fuel, the fiber is more durable than wood, and can be used in basic construction, and can be woven into cloth, and even silk.
Overall, it is the most beneficial resource on the planet.

It makes drinking orange juice a profound ecstatic experience
People use it for glaucoma, nausea suppressant and appetite stimulant to combat aids wastage syndrome, I've heard of many people using it for bi-polar disorder, lots of people use it for pain relief, pain from multiple sclerosis, some evidence suggesting cannabis kills cancer cells...

There is one more benefit for which I utilize cannabis that I left out in my earlier post.
I figured "why not be perfectly honest?"
There may be other people out there with the same affliction.
See: I've had an eating disorder since I was about 10 years old.
I've been in hospitals.
I've been on medications.
I've been down to 85 pounds in my 30's.
I've had the fronts of my teeth replaced with porcelain veneers. (the stomach acid ate away the enamel).
I've had tissue replaced in my throat (same reason as above).
Worst of all: I've lied to myself and every person I know.
When I smoke pot, I don't have the anxiety of counting calories or how much weight I may have put on with a simple sandwich. PLUS: (here's the good part) the right strain gives me severe munchies.
Anorexia / Bulimia (a.k.a. "ana-mia) is NOT an image issue, not about being pretty or cool, it's a control issue. Kind of like: "I can't control the whole world, so I'm going to control my entire body." It's sickness, plain and simple.
When I'm high I seem to let go of that need to control myself.
I've talked to my shrink about this, and we live in a state where it is not legal, and he has told me that ganja is probably the best possible thing for me to use to control my anxiety and anorexia. (those weren't his exact words, of course)
But I wanted to read other responses and see if anyone else has an eating disorder helped by herb. It has certainly saved my life and kept my child from being an orphan.
I'm proud to say that I'm at a healthy, normal weight now, living happily with a bud in my hand. So yes: pot helps with anxiety and insomnia (in my case), it cures the symptoms of P.M.S., and it literally saved my life with it comes to anorexia / bulimia. If you know anyone with an eating disorder, please tell them about how pot can alleviate the weird need to starve oneself. I know it sounds crazy, but it's a habit just like any other, except perhaps it is more dangerous than a serious drug addiction because it's NOT illegal. There is nowhere to go and find your "fix". You don't need any money to feed your addiction. You can do it at work, home, or the side of the road, wherever. And it will kill the person doing it quicker than alcohol, cigarettes, and a poor diet combined.
This was kind of hard for me to reveal and type about, so please excuse any grammatical errors and lengthy bits.
I just think that this is ONE MORE reason why it should be legal.
