I will be visiting a licensed physician in L.A. sometime this week to see if I'm eligible for a recommendation, and I have a question: How good are my chances of obtaining a medical marijuana recommendation if I suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder but don't have any medical records of the diagnosis?

Uhhhhh, its is called PTSD dude- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. And I'm thinkin you would probably be referred somewhere for a diagnosis by any medical cannabis doctor with an iota of self respect. But then hey, I ain't a doctor.

Grape- you are a "shoo-in"! No problem whatsoever for you to get legal. Check if there is a Medi-Cann clinic in your area. They tend to have very low prices. $135 isn't too bad of a price for the 1st visit, but I have seen a bit lower mentioned in some posts. I have a whole load of cannabis vs MS studies in the link in my sig- either link will get you to my list. Be sure to pass the link to the "master list" to your doctors! They might find it interesting reading!
Mr- There are two basic types of MMJ doctors- the "whores" who will give you a rec if you are breathing and have the cash; and the "true believers" who see amazing medical potential in cannabis. The "whore" tend to be in "clinics" and cheaper. Unless you can prove the trauma (newspaper clipping, accident report, divorce papers, prison record, etc.), you may have some trouble convincing a "believer", a "whore" won't care. And there are several studies on PTSD in my list that you might find interesting.
To all of you- when you get your rec, have the doctor write on it just how many plants and ounces you are permitted! The law is in a state of flux right now. The Cali Supreme court threw out the "6 plant/8 oz" limit! But even before they threw it out, a DOCTOR'S recommendation on numbers topped the "limits"! Now, as things stand, there are no limits except what your doctor says! Get it in writing!

Also, the part about yearly visits to the doctor has been tossed. ONE visit is all that is required. However, the cops are often slow to realize changes in the laws, and may not know this. :wtf:

I am on several boards as "Storm Crow". I'm a busy old bird- if it says "Storm Crow" and it's about cannabis, it's most likely me! ;) (There's also a "goth" and a gamer "Storm Crow" on the net, too- neither of them is me. lol) Part of my list was published in a Treating Yourself article recently. :D
A young member there asked permission to use parts from my list as the body of an article, and I said OK! I WANT the info to get out and I'm not fussy how it's done! I don't have the time to do an article- so if he wanted to.... more power to him! He did mess up one URL (not too bad if you consider how many were in the article), but I thought it was a pretty good article. :)
Please feel free to spread my list around! :D
