EXCELLENT ADVICE ! ... kids: don't try this at home ... the taproot is extremely sensitive to movement, and light ... this is called 'STRESS ' :wtf: ... stress causes seedlings to choose Male gender, etc.. ... sound pertinent ? ... all love to my buddy, Treetops, but I had to chime in

Hey mac,
No secret...just pop my seeds in presoaked 5.8 rapid rooters and let Mother Nature do its thing...

Good luck,
Treetops

Well, I've done the unthinkable, again..I like to "schoose" my seedlings down into the rapid rooter, and get the tip of the root in the water...the sooner the better I figure..First pic shows how it was reaching for the light....Heres the WW after doing so..I gently extract the root, sometimes I will leave part of the rooter material...it breaks up after a while in the water..with no harm done...

it's 'unthinkable', because it stresses the hell outta the root system, the heart of your plant ... even light damages young roots ... maybe why you get so many males ??? ... early stress is what influences sex, as much as, or more, than anything else ... I seldom, (almost never) get a male, which plays hell with my breeding projects ... Treetops is a gifted grower, and a VERY good friend, but I have to harp on this ... newbie growers read this stuff, and take it as fact ... do NOT play with your root system ... (sorry, Tree, had to do it) :( ... your friend, IR

Reapers right and I still do it...newbies be advised "Do Not Do as I Do"...Do as Reaper says....he and I are good friends and I dont mind his harpin cause he is much more experienced than I am...thats why I do the crazy unheard of things I do...Grow on I say...Thanks Reaper as always...

Peace,
