When should I start to pick?

The plants are about two-two and a half months old, and I wanted to know about how much longer it would be until I am able to start picking them.

At full zoom I see no amber trichs.
It looks like you have a few more weeks to wait.
To be sure though, I recommend that you buy or borrow a cheap microscope.
(Radio Shack, about 10 bucks)
Use it to take a close look at the trichs.
When they are "mostly coudy" with sprinkling of amber it's a nice mix of head high and couch-lock.
In short:
More light and more waiting is advised.:)

Looks like you may have a week or two of waiting.

I'd also suggest that you quit "petting" it and sniffing your finger.:D

When you touch the bud, trichomes break off and stick to your fingers. :(

lmao! i agree with weeze, more light and a little while longer. you want ~70% amber trichromes.

bahaha that was my boyfriend, not me :p I don't touch them or anything... im not "allowed" to because I left the lights on for too long one time.

Just make sure you smoke all those beans!! What kind of lighting do you have on them. No offense but they look very small and the seed pods are breaking open so they must have been pollinated or hermied on you. Seeds ripen at 4-5 weeks I believe. Not too much bud production going on either. Look malnourished or even root bound.

ha they are pretty small, but there isnt really much we can do with them considering where we live.

we only started to grow them for something to do and so that we wont have to pay for our bud anymore


yeah we had a big hermie and when we cut it the stem started regrowing into 2 or 3 new plants and it looks crazy now but it was too late, it had already pollinated .


but we re-planted them into a bigger thing because the roots did only have a small limited space

Don't get you're hopes up too much, you might have enough bud to smoke for a little bit but its not going to last until you grow more. If you could find a HPS light on craigslist, or ebay it would make you're buds SO MUCH bigger. The 100-200 you spend on a 250-400w hps will easily give you back 10x that much in savings! Don't be scared to research growing, and get into hydro. Not only will it cure boredom if you have too much time on you're hands, but you'll be amazed with how much you can get with very little invested. I have $600 invested but plan to have 5-6ounces every 2 months. Just growing once will pay for everything I bought, PLUS SOME! lol

I hear ya! I really do. Honestly, I didn't even buy my light or hydro setup, my little brother did. And, my other brother is suppose to pay him back for it! haha. I'm actually growing for my brother with epilepsy, my previous grows were done exclusively with cfl's and they all turned out to be males. bag seed sucks, but chronic bag seed doesn't! or maybe i just finally lucked out, I think its because the seeds i got were feminized(chronic plant pollinated itself, both seeds turned out to be females)

From the cfl grows i've seen on here it seems you're best bet is 42w 2700k cfl bulbs placed 1-2inches away from the buds. Anymore than 1-2inches away and the cfl will hardly be efficient to the plant. LST would be the way to go with CFL lights, definitely read up on lst with fluorescents.

Turbo - Yeah, it still cracks me up. We were sitting around about 4 years ago and my friend was bombed and out of nowhere that came out of his mouth. There was a long silence and I reply "Brad it isn't legal at all." Oh good times.

Kamalais - a 6 pk of CFLs will run about 15 bones for 26w'ers, 2 qt of soil pob under $10, small fan you may have one already, nutes - you can make your own, but you can prob buy some for around $10 also. Just save about $50 and you can get everything you need to get you going then, when you get it down, start investing in better equipment light, nutes, etc.

check out my grow log in the signature. i've got minimal invested and you could do it with less. just be creative and not afraid to try stuff out. just remember, you never fail, you just find new ways not to do something. you get out of this what you put in is what seems to be the mantra.

read up and plan ahead and you can do amazing things with imagination!
