Whiskeytango's Area 51

This grow is gonna take about a month to be fully running. Acquired the space through a buddy few days ago. Its a 15x15 2 car garage. It is bigger, but I only wanna use 15x15 and a few fake walls.
Give ya strain list I ordered, then give you tech specs and tell me what ya think,
Strains- (all are 10 or 12 beans)

Nirvana- Misty (old fav of mine)
Legends- Red Eyed Bride (calab with Dj Short, limited release)
TGA-Querkle
TGA-Pandora's Box
Federation- Mikado (nother old fav)
Cannacopia- Bubba Kushx Deep Chunk

There's the beans for this go. Im thinking 3x 3 1000w Cooltubes with a 454 6in can fan to exhaust each set of 3. 2x 6in can fans with carbon filtersm and an ozone/ionizer dooberjigger. DEFNITELY big time CO2
Veg area will just b 2 400w MH in regular hoods in a closet attached.
Sound good? Any ideas? Beans are ordered, so cant take those back.
Lemme know your thoughts. Construction begins in about 10 days. SO help memake sure shits good.:greenthumb:

Wow sounds like its going to be a badass setup! Looks like you made up your mind yourself on the Querkle! Awesome! I can't wait to see this strain under HID lighting. What style of grow are you going to do? SOG, ScrOG, LST, FIM? The querkle is deff a great LST strain, check back this week for my pics and you'll see why.

All great genetics, sounds like you won't have a temp problem w/ the cool tubes. Thats bigger than any setup Ive taken part in so I can't give you too many pointers.

WT sounds great bro.. Try going vertical with the HPS Cooltubes...Imho it's the closest way to replicate the sun indoors...even vertical and overhead hps, it's at least something I'd like to dabble in...but anyways the setup sounds good...

R you going for trees, if you are think about going vertical w/ the lighting I think you'll love the results....

hey wt...im no expert on strains but i'm sure interested to see the querkle in action. so are those 5gal buckets of soil or hydro? and I'm guessing you have about 8ft+ as for height? i believe your using 3 cooltubes. will they be overhand or vertical? sounds like a spacious area...good luck with the setup

well....the more the merrier but thats a shit load of lighting for 15x15. One 1000W incandescent covers an 8X8 ft area.

15x15=225 sqft
8x8=64 sqft
225/64=3.52
1000x3.52=3,520 watts

You'd be fine with 4000 watts, but 9K watts will assure maximum, maximum, max yields lol. Do what you can afford and be safe with at the same time. 5 gal buckets, you could get over an lb a light easy with 4K. I couldn't imagine 9k watts worth of bud! Co2... reap benefits!

you said they will be in cooltubes...If your going to put in Co2, just vent the cooltubes thru a scrubber...w/ the Co2 you can seal the room....like in the 3 lbs. a light thread by Tranoble...Are you trying for trees in those 5 gal.

i figure around 9-12 1000k would be ideal.....but damn what an electric bill that would be.....i ran 6 1K's and a few 400's and the power bill was in the high 600's....ure gonna need one powerful A/c to keep that room cool.....especially if you plan to run in the summer months...

i had a 2.5 ton a/c to cool that room alone....with 6 1k's and 3 dayton 465 blowers to cool the lights...that got the room perfect......but before the new a/c and the air cooled lights my temps were around 120F.....with a 1 ton a/c and no air cooled lights. Good luck....im sure you will get it whiskey....im looking forward to some pics also! :thumbsup:

The legal way to cut down electric bill is to run a flip-flop relay or some type of generator. Any way that uses electricity without paying for it is not legal. I keep seeing instructions for messing with meters on other sites and have gotten into arguments with people who say it's not stealing if you still get a bill etc etc etc... I hope you guys are all above board...

No worries man, it's total wattage that is the big thing- 9k is a big assed grow, lol! There's been a tightening of the rules in the past year and I'm not mad or anything, just trying to keep shit on the DL. Aren't we all? ;)

I have ran her a few times and made a few crosses with her...Here is the information I got from Cannabis Cowboy when he sent me the beans a year or so before the actual release from Legends. Initially i do not think they planned on releasing it to the masses but after the praise me and the crew thru out there it was a no brainer.

Here is what I have from Cannabis Cowboy on the Red Eyed Bride that is runnin around. I didn't know Chimera had anything to do with it at all, but I could be wrong..

"Red Eyed Bride - It all goes back to a very special time in my budding hobby when I was in Switzerland working for Breeder Steve in his magnificent warehouse full of genetics from around the world. Of the thousands of plants i was blessed to witness there were two specimens that stood out to me more than any others, the bx1m1 and the bx2m4, both grapefruit crosses that Steve was evaluating for future seed projects. Because the warehouse was a breeding facility there was pollen flying around and both were hit by a mystery dad that Steve had in his collection, and trust me, the dads were all guys you'd be happy to marry your first born to. Both plants were lightly seeded and Steve knew how much I would value the children inside these magic beans.

Fast forward a few months and I decide to take the plunge into wedded bliss with my soulmate of 10 yrs smack in the middle of the summer of 2001. Of course up to his eyeballs in buds and beans at the time Steve was unable to make it to our side of the world for the wedding, but sent along the best wedding present a spice loving bean fiend could imagine, all of the bx1m1 and bx2m4 seed that was produced by the mystery pollen.

For the next couple of years I grew both these selections indoors and out with awe inspiring results, some of the frostiest easiest to grow seed I'd ever come across. It was sold medicinally as the koolaid and the mountain goo to the local med clubs with very favorable reviews. Soon I realized the stock was getting mighty low, 40 of each left, so I decided on an open pollenation of the bx1m1 as a preservation method more than anything, for myself as well as cannaphiles like you crazy fuckers. There are less than 1000 beans of it as well as a Soulshine and a grapefruit I threw in for kicks. Should be lots of variation but look for the dark ass green with the silver flowers and you'll be on the right Cannabis Cowboy"

In my area I had a 20% rate hike in my electric bill due to rising costs of oil on october 31st. They readjusted for the first of the year come january and will lower the costs by 6%. So I am still paying 16% more even though the price of fuel has come down way lower then last year.
So, if I want to take off the meter clip and pull out my meter for a few weeks so be it. They are, without a doubt, ripping us off.

Misty, and Red Eyed Bride and my freebie Mazars came in today....WOOOOT! They will be getting wet this sun, and construction beginning on Mon...cant wait!!! Few changes though:

-no longer 15x15, now the 15x15 is flowering only!!!!
-wattage is now around 15k as opposed to 9k
-getting 2 12k BTU ACs

Awesome! I just trimmed and jarred up the Purple Urkle pheno today and gonna get some pics soon, it smells great and is covered with trichs! its the wide leaf shorter pheno. The skinny leaf space queen pheno (bit lower odor) however is better for SOG gardens imo and is my preference for an ongoing grow. They are both absolutely amazing! Clone the space queen over and over if you can I think its harder to acquire out of one pack of seeds, it also yielded higher than the purple urkle under the T5. ill post the address to the dried Querkle PU pheno pics later for ya.

Here is the wierd BG pheno that WASNT topped, was supercropped, but I did that up top for lower growth to shove out.....instead, it turns itself into a crown. All those tops you see are only 3 nodes worth....but they all came up to even with the main top. Last pic is the quadrafoliate....supreised she came out swingin this hard!!! Didnt expect her to make it to flower...let alone...

I looked back at my log, the BG was grown all by itself so no cross with foxy seeds. I don't understand the varieties though, I've always had very similar plantswith that line.

You can reveg and take clones, you know. Not that hard.

I twisted/pinched the top of my 'ghani plant and it is 'crowning' too. Otherise I didn't do anything but one week of LST and bottom cropping this grow. I like the results.

I have the urkle pheno, and like to veg long and bush or scrog it, the nugs pop the whole way down every branch, fairly evenly sized to the bottom. They all weigh out too! VERY dense! Def my favorite herb ever! (for now!):jointsmile: Your grow doesn't look commercial to me, it has a couple of a few different strains. Commercial grows imho are the ones with rows of identical colas waving under more 1ks thanI grow plants! Check out my grow log, I have a Querkle mom that I threw in a scrog that's at week 2!

buy Ed Rosenthal's 'Big Book of Buds' ,. I think he has three volumes out by now, maybe more ... probably find them at Amazon.com, not sure ... I think they may be published by High Times ... great photography, and details of each strain ... :smokin:

Oh, I read an article in here that said when a plant 'hermies' it is actually doing you a favor. Like giving you a few seeds that are almost guarenteed to be female and basically that is the goal of an excellent breeder like him! I have always read different??? Since, I just got some bud with a couple seeds in it yesterday-I am thinking, good smoke-keep seeds; not so good-toss'um? Don't have #'s to grow anything else this year.

Discount Hydroponics is driving distance for me-would you suggest using them, prices same by mail as in store. Love to shop!

The ECSD we found that hermied, I did NOT wanna keep, cause it hermied without any stress, so most likely, so will all its progeny.

Hey WT and dB, tanks for all the advice. Frankly, I really don't see how one could have a crop within limits. I understand 99 plants will keep you cool with a proper permits. With 2 of you, could be more. Need a collective with copies of "rec" or state card to pull of 2 grows. With the amount of immature and mature plants, I think the boom boom room an Area 51 may accomadate it!

Man, there is an 'absolute' auction soon. Highest bidder takes all! Thinking of getting a few. Since they are below what you can build for! Could be excellent investment and start hobbies that will pay for themselves? Will start checking around now, since this is the time! Maybe, get a below cost house and move here! Fast, and into operation quick!

So far, he said if you have weapons on the property and growing you are automatically arrested for 'intent to sale!' I have shotguns for rattlesnakes-ain't gonna get rid of them and will keep handy for snakes, since I was almost bitten last Sept! to close to call! Other limitation he said is, 'If growing a crop, not within a school zone." If kids in the house, you may be in trouble. Regardless, I think a seperate area for growing away from kids and locked properly will do the do, as he suggested. He is, by the way, a Judge pro-tem, Republican and short enough to have the "the short man's syndrome' which means he will win at all cost! For mmj but reluctant for legalization and works on getting it re-solved for medical use. His energy and sharpness is overwhelming, it is about winning and he just got a couple off here. Old 80 yr. old Granny got off last week and we are having fund-raisers to finish paying him off. So, he sticks it out there! Brass Balls type of man! PR:jointsmile:

Lil update....Got lots o stuff going on. The BGs are at about day 28 flower. the rest are spread out, but all earlier. Yeag's MTF x Black Indica, Church x NCDG, NCDGbx, Foxy's Afghani Dream x BOG Medley, and a few PP crosses are all in their second week since popping soil. The PP crosses are, Cotton Candy, White Rhino, Church, and Dutch Dragon. Also have 20-25 clones from the flowering strains going. This is the next round to go in the flower room.

This is the first 'absolute' house auction! And they are financing-unusual normally! I am a little far south for what you need. But, am looking! If I find 2 house's next door to each, I might put in a bid! Stairs or not? basement if o.k.?--I think I'd prefer a basement, but depends on property, location and avail! I expect we'll have another by end of year, but may be a lot of work, got carpentry skills? I've looked at a few and it seems like the wires for electric are being stolen :( that might be too much work, since they take the plumbing copper too! I am also the grower for SnSstealth. Db is my helper, and is learning quite well! He handles keeping my rooms exactly whre I need em, I watch the plants. try repping snsstealth, or start your own thread and link it in here, I wont mind, and that way we can find your thread and help!
