I asked about Target's policiy specifically in a previous post but I thought I would ask in general what the practice is in relation to:
Say the test comes back positive. The drug testers or the company that hired me (contingent on the drug test) contacts me. If I ignore the call, will they leave a message simply stating that I failed and that my offer was rescinded. Will I have to actually talk to them? How does the conversation usually go?
I already have a job lined up, so failing this drug test isn't going to be the worst of news. So I don't really have any reason to 'fight' the test and ask for a redo, but that obviously doesn't mean I should be like, "Well, you caught me!" right?
How should it be handled?

As I mentioned in your other thread, the employer may not call you at all, but simply move on to the next candidate for hire. This would also apply if the employer did make an attempt to call you, only to recieve an answering machine.

Well, if you don't get the job then what difference does it make how the conversation goes? Most likely you won't be contacted at all, but if you are then why not be honest about it?
So you didn't get the job. Ok, fine that sucks. But what does that have to do with you smoking weed? Nothing. It has to do with the store's policy - which isn't your fault, it's theirs. If you fail, then don't pretend you don't smoke - it's weed, it's not some dirty little secret - you smoke, I smoke, your neighbor probably smokes, and the guy on the other end of the phone probably smokes too. If you pass the test, then yea: keep your mouth shut and take the job. If you fail, then be honest about it - it's nothing you should have to hide to begin with. It's just weed!

That was basically what I was wondering. I didn't know if I would be 'interrogated' or simply informed that I failed the test.
But, see, now I'm slightly worried again because I just discovered F.Y.E. MIGHT drug test. Although you think when they hired me they might have mentioned that it was contingent on a drug test, like Target did.
