so what do u think? under 172 fluro watts lts in small closet. 3ft x 1 1/2 ft. 2 26 watt at the end of 3 ft fluro bulbs.plants stretched towards the center of fluro. top soil mix w miracle grow perlite w lil blood n bone meal n lime.added too much lime at first soil ph was too high. fixed w a lil mixture or vinegar. lost 1 plant early on .germinated more and trained the others till the newbies caught up. tied them down also for lower branches to grow up 2 lite. month on most of them but 3 which r month and a half.. had to trim those early from leaves yellowing and dying. possibly over watering. didn't fertilize w any chemicals. i have added a half dose of solution at watering once w miracle grow.plants seem to look good but some r showing yellowing of the veins.treated w epsom salt the other day foliar fed now waiting to see how they look after that. plants seem to look healthy except for 2 runts which i just trimmed too.thiking of flowering in another week maybe 2 at most. what is the average yeild on a closet grow like that? never topped any plant. i want that top cola!! let me know ur opinions please! thanks now go FIRE UP!!1

Nice plants you have going there. Try moving your light down a bit because your plants are still small so they'll need as much as light as they can get specialy because your using fluorescents and not "proper" lighting so they'll need to be a bit closer as your not getting as many lumens, good bulbs to use are Cool white and warm white bulbs (BTW).
Aswel Miracle Grow, I suggest cutting the plants from that alot of growers have had bad experience and bad tastes with miracle grow, your choice but I wouldn't use it.

believe me the lights r as low as they can go. they r practically touching the tops.they were just trimmed b 4 i took pics. had some yellowing in lower leaves. just used a lil miracle gro for a quick fix did'nt feed them all w MG.some showed yellowing in between the veins on the leaves. figure its a mg def. sprayed epsom salt on leaves.ph was high at first but seems to b fine now but keeping an eye of course. too much lime in the initial mixing of soil made ph high.used vinegar to bring back down.lil home remedy i read about. waiting to see how it turns out n if that was the right diagnosis. by proper lites i suppose u mean metal halide? small closet i have n heat would then b an issue there.putting xhaust fan would b 2 much work n damage to the old plaster.small mounted fan moves air thru closet pretty good.stems seem to b strong n thick. small grow like that what do u think the yeild would b on a few of those??

In the picture the plants appear to be 8, maybe even 10 inches from the light. If you can't move the light down more just get a box to put them on. I would have them about 3 inches away. Like I said, from the picture, they look very far away.
Did you take care of that yellowing and figure out what caused it?

GOT 8 OF THEM!DON'T KNOW THE STRAINS JUST GOT IT OUT OF GOOD BAG I GOT.I'M GOING TO DO A LIL ADJUSTING W NEXT GROW LIKE ADDING MORE LIGHTS. Yield is going to be lower with those lights instead of a HPS but it is worth a shot. There are many factors to consider, light, plant size (how long of a veg time are you thinking?), proper care, and strain characteristics when guessing yield. Your buds will not be dense if only using 2 3ft tubes. Shoot for 5000 Lumens per square foot.

another 2 weeks in the veg. most of the plants r pretty bushy now n if i didn't lst them they would b over a foot tall.except the runts that just won't grow enuf to catch up.thats y i m waiting 2 weeks to change the light cycle.going to add 2 more cfl bulbs.to get the lumens up when flowering.maybe 3 cfls.so 5 total plus the 4 3ft. fluros.

If I were you though, I would ditch the tubes and go all CFL, for flower anyways. I use tubes for Veg and CFL for flower the reason being this....my 4 ft tubes are 40w a piece, 80 overall. I can use 3-4 CFL's 26w's and place them around the plants to maximize my lighting. Same amount of watts but I'm getting more from them. Ya dig?

I DIG!! I m going to add a few more cfls in there to brighten it up in there. The cfls will fit right in between the tubes i have mounted on the plywood.I could fit 4 or 5 in there still.Closet is only 4 1/2 square ft. Should b plenty of light then.I hope it doesn't mess up the temp too much tho.Its all a work in progress but coming along good so far. Thanks for the advice!!

Sounds like a plan, just watch the temps. You could put a fan blowing on the bulbs to control temperature if necessary.

added 3 more cfls.soft white 23 watt. Now going to see how it effects the temp.

Make sure to keep them about 3 inches away because CFLs WILL burn leaves if they are close or touching. A small fan blowing on the lights should take care of heat, I wouldn't worry unless it gets over 80 degrees. Peace

So far so good!! The heat hasn't been a factor at all. Highest was 80 so far.

Just took a few pics while undoing ties on plants.Watered yesterday w grow solution.I'm thinking of flushing plants b 4 I change light cycle in a few days.Any thoughts here?Is it good to change light cycle a few days after giving grow solution without flushing first?Or should I give a shot of bloom sol. b 4 I change the lights??
