Why not get a vaporizer? The smell from them is WAY less and you need less pot, too. It is healthier AND the leftovers can be used in brownies! Vapor Brothers is a good brand- good quality, simple to use, and not too pricey! thumbsup:

hmm never tried a vaporizer. Might have to invest in one. Personally for me though, nothing beats a nice joint

There is somebody in my building that smokes very heavily almost every night. One woman, who lives a considerable distance down the hall from our apartment, suffers from allergies, and nobody can figure out where it's coming from (not me, I use a vape).
These joints, blunts, or whatever he or she is smoking must be humongous. It's like they're smoking it right in the hallway, and the smell permeates the apartments on at least two floors, maybe more. It doesn't bother me, but I understand that people that don't want it coming into their apartment.

if you can smoke tobacco in your apartment it is a fine idea, though less and less of them are allowing it now. incense work well, just light some and let them go for a few minutes before starting, most places dont mind the incense as much seeing as its not really smoking and it has a generally pleasing aroma, but remember its not about the strength of the odor for the incense, even gentle smelling incense can cover the heaviest of smoke sessions. But like everyone here said vape, if smell is an issue, why take the risk, plus if you get the right ones you can even vape incense afterwards to eliminate odors. Also use the cardboardtube + dryer sheets trick, im not a fan, but it works.

Ive smoked in the ghetto of all ghetto locations to the cream of the crop bourgeoisie rich snob apartments and never have worried about being busted for smoking in my own apartment.

you will be safe, im sure.

of course, there is always an exception to the rule..

I've been in some really ghetto ass apartments where everyone did handfuls of different drugs and pot and I've also lived in a fancy up tight gated community and I've never had any problems. If you're worried about it, buy some dryer sheets and stuff them into a toilet paper tube and blow your smoke out through that or the towel under the trick is good as well.

I remember one day very specifically.. I've sat in an apartment and smoked a box of blunts between 4 people, constantly throughout the day.. No complaints.

if you have a big space underneath your door, put a towel down in front if it, that way less smell goes out into the hallway.

People have told me that even though I don't have a number on my door, they know which apartment is mine because it always reeks of weed, but I never get any complaints. There are kids and shit who live on my floor and stuff too.

It mostly comes down to wether or not the peole who live around you actually KNOW what weed smells like. Most don't.

My husband and I have had this problem in many of our previous homes.
He seems to simply not give a shit, whereas I utilize LOTS of candles, incense, air freshener, I even keep spray version of air freshener near the front door in case strangers or non-smokers knock. I also have been known to keep the smoking restricted to one room, open the window whenever possible, etc.

OH: on the topic of air fresheners: I am telling EVERYONE I know about this:
those Glade or Renuezit plug-in deals have been linked to dozens of house fires. They're made of plastic and shouldn't get as hot as they do, although they tend to give off a great smell. So avoid those, please.

Good luck on your quest for discretion....;)

I recommend buying a glade plug-in

Seriously:
I personally know one person, I have a friend of a friend (that makes 2), and I've heard news reports about how those Glade Plug-Ins are VERY unsafe. They cause fires.
They do give off a lovely aroma, but think about how that thin tiny piece of plastic gets so incredibly hot, directly connected to an electrical outlet: bad news.
They will be taken off the market eventually.
And think of it this way: if a fire does start, who would be to blame? The multi-million dollar Glade company, or the guy / gal trying to hide her bong smells?
Be safe. Burning candles should always be in proper holders, too.
Vaporizers are a great solution, open windows whenever possible, and you can buy these little sock thingys that are scented and fit snugly over the blades of a ceiling fan, they work very well. My personal favorite is nag champa incense sticks.
NO PLUG INS! Safety 1st.

Of course the Glade company would be to blame. Its their product, and if its used according to instruction, it shouldnt start a fire. If it starts a fire, they are responsible.

Unless the box has a warning, the company is responsible. Not the person hiding the 'bong smells'.

EDIT..I just looked into it and it seems that the case of glade plugins causing fires is a fallacy, a myth.

I live in a house that is split into two apartments (upstairs and downstairs). My landlord lives 3 houses down. I smoke daily here (upstairs is my place). I burn incense everytime I smoke (Nag Champa is my preference). My landlord comes up for various things on the occasion and i've never had complaints from her or the people who live downstairs and i know they don't like marijuana, so i would say burn incense and that should take care of your problem. I usually crack a window slightly while smoking then shut it and let the incense do its work. Hope that helps. SMOKE ON!!!!:rasta:

I have never seen or heard of glade plug in's here in Switzerland, therefore i can not go out and buy one. I however purchased some vanilla incense yesterday and it totally covered the smell and smelled great. No worries for me now :D:stoned:

I do know for a fact that one person had a house fire due to Glade plug-ins. Better safe than sorry! And yes, the Glade company would certainly be the one to blame, but who cares who's fault it is when everything you own is in ashes? And think of it this way: they have $1,000 an hour attorneys to cover their asses. It's not a myth. These things are very dangerous and should be taken off the market. I cannot recommend Nag Champa enough, plus some of those scented fan blade covers. They're safe, they smell wonderful, and cover the "yummy" smells nicely. NO GLADE PLUG INS! Got that? "Burning Down the House" is a Talking Heads song, and not a mantra.

its totally a myth. its been tested. maybe the one person you know wishes their house set on fire because of a glade plug in, but it has yet to be proven that they are the cause of a single house fire.

For what it's worth, I don't believe those Glade plug-ins cause fires, but I use their battery operated one so I can put it wherever I want, and not use outlets. One or two would not be strong enough to knock out really heavy smoke, though.

Ace Hardware, online, has the large (14.5 oz) Ozium at a very good price.

I like the weed-scented Glade Plug-ins. Makes the whole house smell like you've been smoking blunts all day, even when you haven't, and it covers up the smell of incense, fabric softener, and fresh-baked cookies.

dude this is the easyest way to get away with it. Light an incent and then set up shop next to a window and get yourself a fan and set it up so it blows air out the window. then just toke and blow into the fan and your set, this is how we get away with smoking in our dorm room

Grow and smoke in my appartment no problems.
In sweden appartments are more or less airtight though and always kept in a state of underpressure with ventillation so no air from my appartment can ever exhaust any other direction than 4 stories straight up through the ventillation.

I want to say in ur own apt u should be fine but like some1 said theres always that one exception .... u could have smoked there a million times but it only takes once to be busted and it will get u when u least expect it... dont mean to scare u but it happened to me. vaporizer is the best idea

I don't know about the US but here a landlord can't enter your appartment without like a week, or if it's even more, heads up. The only time they can go in on shorter notice is if the other appartments are under direct and immediate danger like there is a fire or water leak and noone is responding when they ring the doorbell.

So here you are pretty safe renting.

What are the rules concerning rented appartments and this in the states?
