View Full Version : how to keep bud fresh for a long time?

im moving from good old BC to a very very small town where i think finding bud will be hard.... me and my buddy are gunna pick up 6 ounces before we leave and was wondering how to keep it fresh the longest??? iv heard much talk about containers but id need like 10 for 6 ounces... any suggestions apperciated :jointsmile:

get a couple of those big ass tight vacs.

anything thats large enough and can be air tight will keep your bud fresh.

GET ONE OF THOSE VACCUME SEALERS!
FREEZE THE WEED IN THEM.
Will keep forever . been there done that.

well you could use mason jars. Those are suppose to be pretty good, i bet you could fit a couple ounces in each one, but I think the vacuum sealed bags is where its at. Those will definitely keep your buds fresh and safe.

keep the buds in mason jars dude. those bags just make you look like a big time dealer.

yea thats what i thought but if i kept it in a bunch of jars wouldnt that look similar? or just like a massive stoner?

iv frozen small amounts before, when ever u take it out it just crumbles with a small pinch...

I think that, to the trained eye of the law, that mason jars would look less suspicious than a couple big ass bags full of buds.

I dont think mason jars follow the stigma of the average bud seller. theyd probably more or less think you just grow it yourself.

This is just my opinionated hypothetical. Im not a cop or anything.

Jars aren't the best for long term storage as they can develope mold after time.

I've only experienced it with outdoor strains so it may just be the bud being predisposed to shit in the air before being put in a jar, but to be on the safe side I don't store my bud in a jar or container for more than a week.

just a small FYI for any containment type...

..nothing is 100% airtight forever. Even coffins are pretty airtight and bodies still decomp and bugs and stuff still get inside.

Maybe a bad analogy, but you get the gist of things.

mason jars are good if the pot is dry and the jars are full. vacuum pack in easy with a viploc bag adn a drinking straw. It's easy to suck all the air out and seal it. Fridge is good for many months, into the freezer if 6 months or more. Just do not crush or handle the herb when it is frozen.
