Got little time now so I'll let you drool about my little stars :P

Set-up:

Lighting = 2x 42w 6500k cfls + 1x 23w 6500k cfl + 1x 23w 2700k cfl....and more to come. 17h day/7h night. Starting Day at 10am.

Soil = "PlantSmart" Potting soil with Perlite (~70%/30%) no nutes added for now.

Watering = When they need it (For now it's one or twice a week). Ph ~7.2 with digital ph meter

Wind = Fan blowing at low speed indirectly from the plants, so they always move slightly. 24h/24h

Love = Everyday when I come home from work and as often as possible on week-ends.

Born Date:
A. Keys = October 25th 2008 (Left One)
Peachez = October 26th 2008 (Right One)


Peachez is bigger and have more and denser foliage than A. Keys.
A. Keys is a bit stronger from the stem.

Temperature:
Daytime: ~83-85f.
Nighttime: I don't know, but less than 80f for sure.

Humidity: Gotta have an hygrometer!

ah so the grow log begins... lets see what i can advise on... hmmm, those temps aren't ideal but are acceptable. any ventilation system? if not, i'd invest in one. if not for temps, just for fresh CO2 readily available to the little (hopefully) ladies. you can get a thermo-hygrometer from any garden store for less than twenty bucks. or online. get one with min/max readout of both temp and humidity, and make sure you know how to calibrate it. looking good though, nice work.

For ventilation, I cannot do anything...it's in a closet and I can't drill a big hole in a wall for a fan or something. Instead I'll make some CO2 with some yeast and sugar. It'll do the trick.

The MODO for this grow is: "Cheap, not Crap".

There is ~100$ in this grow, let's say 50$ more till the end. I HOPE they're females. No. I don't hope. THEY ARE!!! :thumbsup:

Anyway it's a "discover" growth. My 1st grow of ANYTHING. And to date it's not bad at all! I think they are strong plant and they can support a lot of things.

So if I care enough, they'll grow excellent!


No HPS, no MH only CFLs. Trying it! No, I'm doin' it!:D

right on about the ventilation. definitely supplement CO2. i as well support cheap grows, and yes MJ is a hearty plant. hell, its a weed. but i have seen/heard grows go wrong when the grower leans to heavily on this philosophy. so they are hearty, but also worth taking special care of. :jointsmile:

For sure I take care of them. Look closely on my first post!!!

Love = Everyday when I come home from work and as often as possible on week-ends.

I checked the moisture of the soil..plant my finger on the inner side of the pot at about 2" deep and felt the soil is moist..The plants feel alright so no watering for now! I'll let them be dry a bit. Overwatering is the #1 biggest problem, with overnuting'em. I'm not letting them dry out. But I won't water them everyday!

They're in big pots so its normal that it takes longer to the moisture to go away.

Last watering was when I transplanted them, last sunday, November 2nd. I misted a bit their soil on tuesday. Don't ask why, just felt that way.

Next watering will be tomorrow or sunday.

What should I use for fert, I know I should go with something that dilutes in water. But for the power, 20-10-10 is enough?

1/4 the normal amount the first time and i'll see how they react to it. I think I'll go with that. oh and should I get something with micronutrients too?

Everytime I ask some questions to somebody they asks "What are you growing?" My answer is "Hot Peppers, and they'll be really nice!!":thumbsup:

A.Keys is 15 days old and Peachez is 14 days old...

One thing I've discovered, A.Keys is growing a bit slower than Peachez but she got some pretty 7 leaves per leaf? is that how you say it? And peachez got some big 5 leaves per leaf.


Lights are at 3-4" from the top.

lol no friend, secondary growthes are the stems branching off of your main stem. im very jealous beacuse i have been LSTing my plant to promote alot of growth in those branches and yet it still dosnt have the size of growthes that urs does without any kind of training.

They are freaking large man...a bit less than the main stem but they are wide.
That'S one of the things that strike me the most when i discovered that.

These big branches belongs to Peachez.....A.Keys is a bit shy on lower leaves.

Got a coworker who planted a seed soon this summer, and man I've got more leaves on my almost 3 weeks olds plants than on his 3 foot tall skinny thing. But since last week I told him to buy more lights and put them nearer the plant. And it works! His plant grow more and bigger leaves!

AH! loving the pic of ur plant at ground level, (growthes are coming nicely as i expected) i just fed up my plant, increased its level of training, and brought my lights underneath the canopy to help promote more growht for the extra branches and im catching up, but not quite where ur at haha.

how do u plan to keep your temperatures under regulation?? i dont have a thermometer but im going to assume that my temps are not as ideal as i can make them

Well, my temp is going crazy now.... Day at 76f, night at 61f. It's becoming cold in there...maybe because the closet in where they are is above outside (I'm at the 2nd floor, and there's a porch on 1st floor under my closet.) So freaking cold is entering my closet.

I'll get a little 300w heater to put in there with a timer for night time. I'm not sure because it's a tight place and I don't want overheating.

I got to think on something, if you guys have ideas, tell me!

Got my little heater fan and a new timer, I've set it so it starts with my big fan when my lights shuts off. Auto thermostat so it starts when it needs to.


Temp should stay between 70 and 78f
I'll check tomorrow on my thermometer (got a memory on it so it records temperature every hour for 100 hours, so I know how temp goes at night)

I'll post pics of the upgraded setup tonight!

Sweeet! Watered them yesterday

So saturdays and tuesdays are the watering days as for now.
They look fantastic. Once or twice a day I open the closet'S door about 1/2 hour and I let the fan breath some fresh air from the back room. So fresh CO2 everyday! And tomorrow I'll try to make some CO2 with yeast.

Day temp: ~83f
Night temp ~76f
I gotta get an hygrometer. Thursday is payday!!!

Watered them saturday and tonight.
I really don't know what it can be. Forgot to close the closet lamp while working in there (not one of the 4 i'm using but the one on the ceiling).So they haven't slept for 2 days..

Soil with no nutes (a leftover from the Schultz I used with seedlings but nothing else).

Underwatering? Not enough nutes? Light issues? Humidity related trouble? (don't have hygrometer yet..)

im not an expert yet;) but im pretty sure 7.7 is to high for soil and that locks ou nutes so try to get your ph under control and that might fix it but definately get a second opinion:jointsmile:

Time to fert I think, it'll lower th soil ph and I think they need it. Felt it last week but had no time to seek for nutes. Tomorrow they'll have what they need.:thumbsup:

hmm, well if theres no nutes being given, maybe u should consider it? (this is just an assumption, dont jump to conclusion but look into it) i know that seedlings should be started in unferted mix (which uve done i see) but ass they mature into an adult and really get into veg, they need those nutrients, perhaps that could be it but again, just an assumption.

that might not be a bad idea to use ferts the next day, this way the plant has water and so wont be soo thirsty and suck up too much nutrients at once.as well, by assumption (so i like to hypothesize a bit) maybe the water already in the plant might make the flow of nutrients smoother and less shocking to the plant. so as long as ure starting on low dossage (i started at 1 4th of recomended, and worked my way up) then u should be ok to try it, just not heavy watering (dont needa drown the fellers)

It lures towards nute. the more I read the more it's a nitrogen problem (got purple stems too).

And I think you are right about watering and fert tomorrow. I won't water and fert too much. 1/2 of what i think is the lowest. But I want them to heal!

I'm going for a 20-10-10 liquid or powdered (with micro-nutes and all the good stuff). I will see tomorrow. But I think the liquid will win. Already soluble and stuff.

I got the best seat to know what they need but opinions from others are always usefull!

Nutes bought

Organic N + P + K separately, so I can do my own mix. Gave them some yesterday and today they feel wonderful!

Heater fan = if it got a thermostat it's a wonderful thing to have. You set the temp at 80f, it will start when it needs to. But watch your humidity, heater fan will drop it considerably. Bought an hygrometer, 29% humudity. Put some wet clothes and a bucket of water (1.5 liters) and today 42% humidity. Better off this way.

Swisha man, if your leaves are wide and big and droopy, your humidity it too high.Check mine, they are long and pointy, a bit too dry in there.

Bought 2 42w 6500k cfls, what a difference! It's freaking bright in there!

ive got 12 CFLs running (2 at 27w (at 5500K) and 10 and 26w (at 6500k) and my area is lit up like the fuckin 4th, just be careful for urself and the plants because apparantly, if broken, they can cause serious mercury poisoning thru the lungs and shit, so if they break, RUN AND TELL AN ADULT! unless of course u are an adult, in which u just curl into fetal positon and call the po-9 (OFFICER MY WEED PLANTS GONNA DIE!)

Everything is done man, Thanks for the advice.

Nutes bought, second feeding was yesterday, so 2 water and nutes and 1 water feeding program so it cleans every 3 waterings.

Nutes are for hydroponic...is there a difference? Plants seems to like it VERY MUCH!! Much greener and stiffer stems and all!
Edit: Those nutes are for every type of soil.

I won't repot until they are 15" tall. Actually they are 9" tall.

I won't lst or fim or top them. They grow by themselves, even the dying branches falls by themselves. I'm not cutting anything.

PH is steady at 6.8

Humidity...always at 30%...Today i've put an "all wet to the bone" towel in there. Humidity towers at 52%. Leaves got a "heavy feeling" to them.

Trying my way up to flowering, which may end up with a 150w sodium. With an half-dozen 2700k 23w cfls.

Anyway, they have a long way to go until flowering! they are at their 5th week of veg, and I think they got 5-6 more weeks of veg before their 2 months of flowering.

1. tou'che on the organic nutes haha, i must say tho, naturality came at a price, the nutes are very low dosage. whats ur water/feed schedual? and whats ur concentration of ur feeds?

4. not to gang up on ya or anything, but i can dig what hes saying about the repotting.. ur roots must be very cramped in those small containers.

1 gallon per feet of growth. They measure ~11 inches. Pots are 1.8 gallons. Maths are simple. They can grow another 10 inches more before I repot them. But I won't let them grow this size before repot. 15 inch max and I repot. So next week they will have a new home! Their last one...3-4 gallons pots, I don't know yet.

Nutes, 3ml/litre when they are dry. 2 watering with nutes and 1 only water.

I'll upload the new pics this evening I've got to say that I put 4 more 23 watts 6500K... Lumens TOTAL = 20 000....watts total = 305...I dont know how "incandescent watts" this is but...

Anyway they are 13 and 12 inch tall respectively and they feel great!

Made a little surgery on peachez to remove the big yellowing fan leaves from over my secondaries...said I wouldn't but hey...I have a scalpel!!!

damn monkey those look good. a couple of things though ...

hydro nutes are for hydro, not soil. I am not sure on exactly the difference in issues is, but I do know the uptake isn't the same. The info on that stuff is out there, I just can't find it at the moment.

also, i'd definitely repot them then throw them into flowering. They are definitely mature (both girls congrats!!!) and will grow double if not more when you do!

Of course it's all up to you in the end, but hey, a few ideas along the way never hurt ...

The nutes I got are for hydro and soil. Talked to the hydroshop man about it and he said that it was developped for both environements.

I am repoting them tomorrow, in 4 gallons containers.

New 4 gallons pot with double bottom to ensure moisture and air for the bottom of the plant!! I can water them from the bottom and a special tissue thing will absorb the water and give it to the plant! (Or something like this...fairy or something, i'm pretty fuc*ed up on vodka..)

Anyway i'll give them water the ordinary way, only this time the remaining water can evaporate and stuff. I understand myself.

Watering was done the normal way last thursday. Today the 1/4 of the soil from the bottom is still wet, and no sign of droopy leaves from Anetta like she did with the old pots.

As for now everything is fine! I've searched a bit and watering from the bottom is good and bad depends of what type of plant you got... Someone I know said it's a good thing to water from the bottom...But since i'm a child I've always seen my mom watering her plants by the top.

So...I will follow my mom's path:D

They grow like nothing will stop them, they are bushy and smells good already...Pretty proud of them and their god...Me!!!

When you cut your lights there is a 10-14 day tranferance period....in that time period your plants will double in size.....depending on your strain they could tripple in size.


Doing a slow conversion does nothing for the plant.....cut your lights 12/12

Monk monk whaddap, you seriously wouldnt' consider LST!? Im so glad that i did. I was abit afraid of doing it but i was much pleased. Another thing. I didnt believe the "molasses" shit. Once i started using it with in 10 days my budz trippled in size. Maybe a coincidence? Anyways Lookin good man. Hope to see more form you. How much Lighting you plan on having. The 2700k 42w i had were nice. Alot of leafs burned up, but i have really nice dense budz!

1st: I Don't wanna LST or top or FIM or whatever. Why? Space! I have a 2 feet deep space...And I like the look of a natural plant, without chopping anything.

2nd: Molasses...What the hell is that??? (I will be searching for infos) Mélasse en francais?

3rd: Wattage = 306 real watts...over 1200 incandescent watts 4x42w + 6X23w...6500K I'll be switching them all to 2700K, same watts and all for flower.

Flowering will begin next week!! Christmas week!!
I will get some blooming thing to multiplicate the flowering spots, and some molasses if I finally know what this is...

So, I got some time today to put a good lot of all things that have came up in the magic closet.

First of all. Lights. I know I should've invest in HPS. Anyway, I got 4x40w over heads + 10x23w + 4x13w all around them. 30 000 lumens total.

Feeding them with bigbud from advanced nutrients + my normal organic fert.

They are in flower stage since December 21st.

I can't post pics, don't know why. Maybe the site is fuc*** again.

They have lots of brown hairs and trichs are clear for now. Anetta peaked at 40" and Peachez peaked at 30"...They started Flowering at 29" and 24" respectively.

Damn stupid pics....Have made a photoshoot for the occasiontonight...Maybe tomorrow!

Secret, it is their 49th day of flowering. So ~2 more weeks to go! They had 57 days of Veg. So they are 106 days old!

Anetta losts her most sick leaves, and there are 4-5 more to go...They were brown...The worst are the fan leaves from the top. Anyway she will survive.

What else can I do?
Last week I put her in the bathtub and rinse her with ~10 liters of tap water. Today it's watering day (only water for everyone!).

Reflectors are great! I made some only for the top lights, because every other lights are for the sides of the plants!

If I can have an once in all, I will be pleased..But I think it will be more like an once each....Crossing fingers!!!:thumbsup:

VapedG -- I already have one, and all trichomes are clear for now. I presume it's going to need 2-3 more weeks. If it's more, let it be more! I'm not in a hurry!

theeviltrees -- All you need is wire (18 gage) plugs and light sockets. Double ones were bought in Canadian tire where I live. If you're in the states, try wal-mart!

FunkMeister -- No idea man!!! The other one is big too but she splitted in 3 couple weeks ago. This one is a freaking beast!!! The stem is "U" shaped and is about 12" long!

Here's some pics of the "nanners" of ANETTA. There are about 15 of these nanners. Some of them opened and spread some fine yellowish powder and some are closed. I tried to cut them all of but one of them spread his powder right in my hand. So I spotted some more and I saw one that was open and all the powder dropped on the leaves right under the pod. So there is little chance of propagation to PEACHEZ. Ventilation is not strong enough. I checked them all week-end long and the worst will be that i'll find some seeds in Anetta's buds...Female seeds!!!

Either way, it's a really cool thing. Discussions about it decided that it was some sort of siamese twin sort of thing. Very strange.

Next time you take pics of the girls, can you hold up a Bic lighter or something? it's tough for me to figure out a reference as to how big things are, perhaps it will help us estimate your yield better.

Almost forgot....Anetta (the tallest and skinniest) was born on October 25th 2008. Peachez (big alien bitch) was born on October 26th 2008. Both from seeds.

Switch them to 12/12 cycle on December 21st 2008.

So they are 127 days and 126 days old.

70 days of flowering time, 10 weeks!!

And they ar not ready yet! CFLs are for something, longer than with HPS so maybe what...3 weeks more from now?

FunkMeister, all the leaves on Anetta falled off because of nutes problems. It's not really an issue now. The top ~10 inches is completely dry on the outside. I can smoke it right on the plant if I want! Anyway, like I sid in other posts, she is gonna be eaten, not smoked.

For the lights, I use 18 CFLs. I got 4x40w over heads + 10x23w + 4x13w all around them. 30 000 lumens total, ~440w total.

Alien Secondary is growing in 3D!!! The "V" shape flower is expanding!! So wonderful!

The buds are growing a bit more but a bit everywhere. Instead of growing bigger all around the bud, there is some "female things" that grows more on some place on the buds. When i'll post pics today or tomorrow you'll see more clearly.

Harvested 4 seeds from Anetta!!!! Juicy ones!! They're big and healthy! I'm keeping'em! And there is more on the way (less than a dozen)!

I tried putting some pollen on some low bud's hairs of Peachez, I don't know if it can produce a crossbreed seed! That would be fantastic!!

Took a buds off of Anetta, Almost all dried up on the stem!!! Head of plant is dried and all top buds on big branches are dried! Let the bud sit for 2 days then I'll test it. Plant is not dead cuz all the lower buds and near the center are all green and stuff. Only the buds far from the main stem are dried up. Once I know ehat the smoke is, I'll chop 3-4 more and make some muffins. then if the conclusion is great, Anetta will be gone!

Peachez, I DID IT!!!! Got some seeds from pollination with Anetta!Seeds...only 2 but hey! Next grow will be a mix! Or maybe some great known strain. The big challenge is next, harvesting Peachez! I think it wil not be in March. 1st or 2nd week of April....maybe more!!! It's never ending!!!

Only the middle lower buds were not all dried out. Weight of the sample bud I took from her 3-4 days ago was .21g...Now it's all dry and it weigh .13 So with all the harvest complete in mason jars and all, I eyeball the whole harvest at ~1 ounce. So it's good!!!

Buds STINKS and STICKS like crazy. Harsh pine smell, like 1 month old "living room" christmas tree... Smoke report? Not yet..Can't smoke pine man!!!

Anyway, 90% of all Anetta's buds will be eaten in various meals so....But they are very crystalized and 80% of trichomes are cloudy.


Peachez now, with her huge Cola and big Alien secondary. Cloudy trichs!!!! finally.. Getting bigger, and buds are sooo DENSE!!!! Harvest will be more like 2 onces...Hope so!!! Main cola will be...at least 14 grams...And i'm sure I underestimate it!!! Smell is a bit more mellow, like sweet poop! :stoned:

Grow is not over dude!!! Peachez still there! And she is soooo BIG!!! Can't wait to chop her down too!!

Took all lights and put em all around Peachez so she got 400W+ and 30 000 lumens for herself!!!! Stems are bending because of bud's weight!!! Big and compact buds!!!

Pic 5 is a mystery pic. This is a little bud from one of my friend's harvest. What is this little amber droplet? It grows there before he cuts it. And there are like 7-8 buds like that. It's like a gigantic trichome but it's hard to the touch.

The weigh in after 4 days of drying is.............70 grams! It's half dry half humid. I let the jars open for like 6 hours then I close them for 6 hours and on. It's starting to lose the harsh pine smell!

The amber droplet is not from my harvest!

Smoke report from the "on the stove without heat" bud: Taste is weird, but it knocks you right off your feet! One of my friend acknowledged it fast!

Peachez is under 10 23-26w and 4 40-42w cfls. Buds are so freaking big!!!! Pics this weekend!!!

I will have approx. 8-10 seeds of the mix breeding of Anetta and Peachez! Maybe next grow to see how strange it will be!

The fasciation Alien secondary's bud is SO BIG. It grows...and grows...and grows....and 1 month with pure H2O!!! Nothing else! So taste will be great! Maybe couple drops of chocolate flavouring in the last watering!

I think I'll yield 3 zip minimum from her! Top bud is almost as big as a 473ml can of rockstar energy drink!!!!

Couple of nanners on some buds. I don't care!

Damn...Anetta is so strong.. 1 toke and WHAM!

Why is their lots of trim still on your buds?

why all the trim left on the bud?

I can try and answer that. It's how those buds form. They are 'airy' or 'whispy' bud. Very difficult to remove all the leave material. Besides that, they are full of trics and make a good smoke. Some plants, or parts of plants produce hard formed buds or nuggets. Some produce thin buds.

Trim leaves are full of trichs and they are part of the buds!

Peachez is another bitch. I'll bring her down soon!! 50/50 cloudy and amber trichs.

Almost dried everything from Anetta. 55gs!! For a sick bitch, it's more than I guessed! Peachez will be...man she's big. 3-4 ounces...:thumbsup:

50% of Anetta will be mixed in some spaghetti sauce for a special night with my closest friends next saturday! With will be...WHAM!

Maybe harvesting is closer than I was thinking of! Maybe it's really 1 or 2 weeks! Maybe...As soon as I see amber trichs, and they grow to like 10% of the trichs, I'll bring her down.

Last watering was.....ehhh...last week. Thursday I think. Anyway, Next week-end I can't bring her down and the next neither so it'll be in 3 weeks.

I feed her only with tap water since the end of february. so she smells really nice!!

This grow will be over when Peachez will be comlpetely dried and cured!

Next grow will be Autumn 2009!!! With a seed from the Anetta-Peachez Pollination!!! And maybe a good strain seed like northern or white widow...I don't know yet!

ive been doing a very long CFL grow and can NOT complain one bit. tip tho... USE TINFOIL... cfls have a hard time penetrating the cannopy, so normally u gotta do a decent trim late in the game (light just about a week and a half to two weeks before flowering, and about 3 to 4 weeks before harvest) but u can trim ALOT less if u got good reflection and well set up light angles.... sry for the tangent, just sumthing i picked up

In a bottle with a hole in the cap. Co2 will pour down on the plants if you put the bottle over the plants, like a shelf.

But after 2 weeks of shaking the bottle and stuff, I haven't seen any change in the plants so I dropped the CO2 making.

If it's your first grow, go simple. Basic nutrients, water and heavy lighting. If you go with CFL, put them all around the plant.

Too tired too post pics and all. But i'm seeing some amber trichs. Anyway, the cutdown will happen this weekend. Tomorrow and saturday lights will be off. Last watering was monday april 13. Last fert was....humm...in february. So Peachez is clean, big, and ready to be dried and cured!

Smells very mild, beautiful color, buds weigh like a ton on their stems. I have to get some more mason jars...There is a lot of stuff there!!!! With HID it would have been a freaking blast!!!

Anetta was almost "dried on the cob" so I did not really enjoy the "wait a long time".

But Peachez...oh man she is soooo resineous, sticky and damp. The smaller buds will be preped and placed in mason jars maybe tomorrow, and I will continue with the rest of the buds, as soon as I get more mason jars! :thumbsup:

First smoke report on some tiny buds I've let dried on the top part of the stove.....Is....Not quite dry...Taste good...hummm..hehehe...stoned! But a happy stone!! WOOHOO!!:rastasmoke:

For summer grow...I will have....cucumbers! Not that cool but hey, you gotta eat after you smoke!!!;)

Final words: Thanks to all you guys for helping and supporting my grow! It was a great experience and I will definetely grow next October! (reason is: summer is too hot here. So I will grow when winter comes.)

Final yield: 4 ounces fully dried!

Smoke report fully dried: Really good!

What is better? Smokin' some Anetta and Peachez in 1 bowl!! Head and body high all together!!!

Top bud fully dried: 8gs
Alien Secondary fully dried: 6gs

FunkMeister, all the leaves on Anetta falled off because of nutes problems. It's not really an issue now. The top ~10 inches is completely dry on the outside. I can smoke it right on the plant if I want! Anyway, like I sid in other posts, she is gonna be eaten, not smoked.

For the lights, I use 18 CFLs. I got 4x40w over heads + 10x23w + 4x13w all around them. 30 000 lumens total, ~440w total.
