Just watching MSNBC right now, that rachel maddow show (hate her, but it has decent content) and there was an entire little skit on the decriminalization bill that recently passed. In her (rough) words, "Seems like smoking weed is becoming more respected among citizens, while gays are becoming...less respected."
I'm going to go watch the rest of it and see if it comes up again.
Discuss?

I am a white MARRIED straight male. I don't care what anyone does inside any consenting relationship as long as it doesn't involve hurting someone.
I also dont care if you want to smoke MJ. thats your business.
the Government was created by the people FOR the people. But it has become Your ruler. Goverments job is to pertect the common trust and welfare of the poeple. NOT pass laws ristricting thier rights and liberties! thats why I am a LIBERTARIAN. Thats why I say " Who cares! " She is just a rateings whore anyhow just like all Jeraldo wannabees.

LOL, I said the same thing to my GF because of the landslide MMJ wins and cali not passin prop 8. I was alittle disappointed. For me its less about being gay or not... I really see it as a human rights violation. Its treating a section of society different than others. I personally think that's wrong. Marriage is a silly institution anyways. Its merely the forming of a corporation in the legal aspect. LOL, I think we are all gonna look back on this and laugh. Because it really really stupid!

A direct link to said skit cannot be obtained due to MSNBC's incompetency to create a proper website layout. So, follow the link below, replace - with . and = with / then click on the thing that says "Smoking Weed is okay, but gay marriage is not."

Not very significant, but this has atleast graced the eyes of a few thousand citizens who have been for the prohibition. Perhaps now with this little hint, more people will do their own research and come to their own conclusions.
As far as gay marriage, that's obviously the persons choice. A government can't tell you who you can't love. I agree that it is a human rights matter, because whether you have a penis or vagina, eventually, you will turn to dust just the same. Might as well make your stay here more pleasant, by not having your government ridicule you for your sexual orientation.
And I guess I over-exaggerated, I don't "hate" her, I dislike her. Mainly, I dislike shows like hers, particularly when they try to throw too much sarcasm into their stories. I just enjoy gaining multiple perspectives on the same events, which is why I watch every major news channel (atleast, I try.)
Seems like as the weeks go by, I see more and more things bringing the credibility of cannabis up. Who knows, this might even be the Decade of Cannabis; from international raids, arrests, and extraditions to federal decriminalization.
Hey, mayBE. Right? Well, I don't know about FEDERAL decriminalization...

Yeah, monogamy is a lifelong battle with one's basic instincts. I absolutely believe in lifelong romantic pairing, but not one that demands sexual exclusivity.
Maybe it's just me, but yeah, I seem to be sensing a bit of a back-lash against gays recently--more so, I mean.

I would have liked prop. 8 to pass...however, I don't like the fact that preachers will have to wed gay couples...that's making them go against their beliefs and is just wrong. Other then that though I have no problems with gay couples getting married. I think that, and the whole "teaching in school" thing is what caused many americans to vote "yes" on 8. So...in retort to her statement, weed is becoming more acceptable because people are seeing the truth about it, and gay marriage is becoming more accepted as well, its just the prop was written poorly and brought up many concerns.

I don't understand........ Whats in a word? Why not union? Why married?
A union with the same rights as a straight married couple would be just as good.
Married should not be held accountable to straigh couples.
I married my jello into my cake.
Marry: To bring two together into one.
Union: To bring into one.
same thing differant word.
ALLAH or JEHOVAH!
same god differant name......... Christ no wonder i smoke weed!

Uh, bullshit. If a specific church/religion does not approve of same-sex marriages, that's their own issue. The government cannot force them into preforming any ceremony they do not wish to preform.

Well, i'm speaking in terms of my religion and religious beliefs. My preachers would only marry traditional couples because thats what's believed to be right and proper. Yours may be different...so its not as important of an issue to you. But thats just what i think...I don't wanna argue man, I was just expressing my opinion as we all should be able to do freely without harsh feeling :hippy: (hippy moment haha).

separation of church and state... wait... WHAT separation???
If marriage is going to become a legal issue, then why not just go out and rape the first woman, cuz that's about as respectful of the constitution! hell it might even be MORE respectful!
